Looking for experience from someone that carries a G29 daily. What kind of holster setup is most comfortable?? I would like to carry concealed and carry open when working on the farm and hiking. also what type of magazine pinky extensions are best?
I recently started wearing tucked in shirts so I stopped carrying IWB G20 or G29. So I picked up a Victory shoulder holster and began carrying an XDS 9mm. This thread made me realize why did I not try the G29? Today the G29 fits and feels great with the standard mag.
A few months back I added the Vedder Light Tuck for my 29, in addition to my AG ShapeShift.
Both are extremely comfortable, but if I'm going to be sleeping with the gun on, the Alien Gear is the holster I take (motorcycle camping). For daily wear, it's usually the Vedder.
The Vedder, with the Claw attachment keeps the handle tucked in tighter against my body (4 o'clock position).
A retired police officer friend that I ride with a lot didn't even know I carried until we were around the campfire talking. (Was my first trip camping with the Vedder, and last... There's a potential little pinch point with it sleeping in a hammock)
for the G20, I either carry in a gunfightersinc kenai chest holster when I am in the woods in in bear country, or OWB concealed in a Vedder lightdraw when I'm around 2-legged critters. I have not found IWB to be practical for this pistol which is over 1-1/4" thick. And if you're dressed right, OWB at 4:00 is a good option. Everyone is too busy following FaceFart and InstaSlam to notice you.
24/7/365 i carry this G29 in a holster i made because *nobody* makes one i like. This G29, 20 rounds, a flashlight, a spare mag with 19, and a 7 inch fixed blade knife i made... all IWB... or... OWB... depending on what the way i want to carry it. My holster system works perfect either way. 5 lbs of gear. I also tested it snowboarding... of all ways... just to see if it was up to the task... all of it... it all worked perfect and i didn't break anything... not gear or bones... and i crashed and burned multiple times. A G29 is only about an 8th of an inch wider than a G23. No excuses to not carry.

I do; I was looking for a baseplate that mimicked my Glock 30 magazine(use to have one). It doesn't add any rounds but gives me a place for my pinky. The aluminum is slick which helps my shirt slide over it. I think it would work if it was half the thickness but I doubt Taylor Freelance would make one. I want to try a GeePlate next.
Interestingly, I also have a pierce +0 finger extension that I don’t use. I prefer the factory mag base to the +0. I can almost palm a basketball. Used the weapon factory for the LTC test.
Not the 29 but the equal in bulk, but lighter G39. Please consider the often overlooked Glock Sport Combat holster. About $15, and designed for what we carry. Two sizes. So wider one for 45/10mm. Glock Mag Carrier also. Good luck in your choice.
I carried my 29 for years in a C-Tac. Tucked everyday. Pulled it back out today. Gotta change to 1 1/2” clips and I think I’m gonna start carrying it again.
