2nd gen Glock19. Super reliable for me as I put a thousand rounds through it and only cleaned it once without a single malfunction, but I hated the trigger and had issues shooting it low left. Looking back, it was probably more me than the pistol, but I didn't care for how the gun felt in my hands. My SIGs work much better for me, and the only striker fired polymer gun I own now is my Shield.

Kimber Combat .45 ACP.

I had read about, and lusted after, one of these for years. I finally got some extra spending money, found one in a gun store in Pittsburg, and pulled the trigger.

If I recall, about 1400 bucks out the door, and the mags were around 85 bucks apiece.

I could not get it to run an entire mag without jamming.

I spent 300 dollars at one gunsmith, to clean it up, and then sent it back to Kimber for another 400-500 bucks to 'fix' what they told me the gunsmith screwed up.

It ran fine for about 50-75 rounds, then went right back to where it had been before.

I was cleaning this thing every trip to the range, with a full bath and detail cleaning, was using compressed air to blow out the residual stuff I couldn't get out with RemOil.

At the same time, was shooting a Ruger P-89 every range trip I took the Kimber on, would give it a wish and promise to clean, and it ran every single round I fired through it, never once failed to feed, fire, or eject.

For me H&K would fill that gap. Despite being an avid handgunner and firearms enthusiast, I did not really like my P9S, my .45 USP, or the HK P8. All those pistols were well made, trouble-free and accurate but somehow they were not for me.
The .45 USP was in grey and cleaning the frame was a chore until I dyed the frame black, right before getting rid of it.

Steyr Aug wasn't my favorite. I wanted an M-4, like I used to carry, heck even an MP-5 so the ammo would work with my G-19. When Customs merged, they issued me the Steyr Aug, with the Donut of Death. It broke down a lot like a Glock, but having a timed magazine exchange on a Bull Pup that was required to be slung was a PITA.

Probably the H&K P30. Nice gun and reliable. It has various sized grip panels, but I just could not find a way to get comfortable with it. My shooting was mediocre at best, even in single action. After a couple of thousand rounds, we decided to go our separate ways. We just weren't a good fit.

Years ago when I was in one of my many 10mm phases, I bought a used but practically brand new S&W 1006. It was a nice gun and built like a tank, definitely seemed stronger than the Colt Delta Elite I had. Unfortunately I never really shot very well with it. The trigger pull just felt too weird to me and I couldn't get used to it, so I ended up selling it. Nice enough gun, just not my cup of tea.

Wanting a "range gun" in other words, something with a longer sight radius, I bought 2, 9mms in 2017, a Beretta Brigadier and a big CZ, think it was a 10, suppressor ready.

Both were well made and reliable but got no affection from me. Sold both, at a loss, usual for me.

Just bought a 5" barreled S&W M&P9 m2.0 and love it. Feels better in my hand than any semi auto I've held. Don

Just a heads up, if a gun store is trying to charge you $85 for a 1911 mag, especially a Kimber mag, then you need to turn around and walk out.

Mine would be;
Classic Sigs, Beretta 92 and other slide mounted safety pistols and most Glocks.

Sigs have their de-cock and slide release in the opposite location compared to everyone else.
This was something my muscle memory always struggled with.

I detest slide mounted safties.

Glocks just don't feel good in my hands except for the G42/43. Also the trigger blade safety does not go flush when depressed thus irritates my trigger finger after 50 rds.

Thank god we have so many good alternatives these days!

I bought a very nice Colt XSE Commander in stainless a few years ago. Couldn't shoot it for crap for some reason. I've had several 1911's that I've loved, but the Colt just didn't "do it" for me. Had an H&K USP 45 that was nice at the range, but I sold it because it felt too big. I finally broke down and bought a pair of G19s, one for me, and one for my daughter because.... well... I never had one and it fit in all my holsters (I carry G23s). Promptly traded mine for another G23.

Remington 870 Express. Bought new in 1988 and it was a jam o matic. could only be used as a single shot. The sun actually melted the finish off the stock, it melted and ran!

Fast forward to 2003 and I looked at a new 870 Express at AceHardware and when I looked down the barrel the choke was visibly installed crooked. Me and the salesman looked at all the Reminton 870s on the shelf and they were all like this.

Life is to short to shoot cheap crappy shotguns.
I do love my 1957 870 Wingmaster!

Glocks.

Years back I shot a Glock 17. Didn't like it. I thought the thing must be made by Mattel Toy Company.

Years later a friend gave me a G17.
I shot it a while. Didn't like it and gave it back to my friend.

Later my friend gave me a G26. I shot it for a couple months and tried to like it but didn't like anything about it, so I gave it back to my friend.

I have a range and teach people to shoot.
Sometimes they have heard about Glocks and ask about them. I'd borrow my friend's Glocks and let them try them.
I borrowed the G26. My friend told me to keep it. I left it at his house when he wasn't looking.

A little later I asked to borrow the G26 again.
He said, "OK, but don't you dare bring that gun in my house again".
So I have a G26. :)

Later I taught a neighbor lady to shoot.
She hadn't shot a Glock but for some reason she bought a G19.
She didn't ask my opinion and I didn't give it, but I knew she would not like the gun.
Sure enough, She shot the gun for a couple months and tried to like it but finally asked me if I'd go with her when she traded the gun in.
I told Her that She was going to lose a lot of money but she said she hates the gun.

I felt bad about letting Her buy a Glock when I knew She would not like it, so I told Her I would buy the gun. Not for a new price but She wouldn't lose too much money.

So, I have a G19.

And there's a couple more stories of how I backed into owning three more Glocks that I don't like. :)

I've never cared for most conventional da/sa style autos regardless of brand. The only two I have now are a Walther PP .22 and CZ75b Omega. The Walther's fired sa 99.9% of the time. It's the ultimate West desert kit gun so I overlook It's firing system because of It's other outstanding attributes. I bought the CZ fall of 2017 to make one final attempt to shoot a da auto well. The gun's accurate as all get out. But I still can't get use to a crappy da first shot followed by a boatload of crappy sa follow up shots. I'll most likely sell/trade it off some time in the near futute.

CZ P07. I had two of them and really tried to like them. I love the P01/SP01 but just couldn’t get behind the p07. I guess I can throw my p10 in there too. Should’ve never been released with that horrible mag release.

1911s as a whole. Nice to look at, I hate shooting them.

I carry a Glock 19 everyday and really enjoy the footprint, but have switched over to a M&P 2.0 4.25 with an x300 ultra. Similar footprint and carries just as well as my 19 but feels better in my hand with a nicer trigger. I still love my 19 though.

Most guns don't work for me.
The best:
Most CZs (and clones)
Browning Hi Power
Glock (42, 43)

The okay:
S&W
Springfield Armory
Glock (17, 17L, 34)
1911
Walther

The bad:
Glock (19)
H&K (all of them)
Sig Sauer (most of them)
Taurus
Beretta

I have a P30 and VP9 and shoot the VP9 much better. I'm not sure why other than the different feel to the trigger.

For me it's my dad's Hi Power. Beautiful gun, very accurate for him, but the grip doesn't fit my hands well and my accuracy is mediocre.
