I checked several reloading sites and all supplies seem to be avaiable. Checked my reloading room and I'm still well stocked. Checked my ammo cans, still got at least 3,000 rounds in 4 calibers. Guess I'm good.
Maybe, I ordered a case of 9mm 147 gr SPEER FMJ, and a case of Magtech 180 gr .40 FMJ, the day after the Las Vegas shootings and Ammo prices did not go up, or become scarce. I received e mails from Target Sports and SGAMMO.com yesterday with no price increase or shortages detected.
I'm always on the lookout for ammo deals, so I search the internet checking prices rather frequently. I can't say I've noticed any price bumps or decrease in availability.
Not yet. But perhaps in the future. Don't think Trump makes people anywhere near as nervous ad Obama (who did great things for guns and ammo sales, ironically.)
I just do what I think of as "ammo cost averaging." When I'm in Cabela's, or Wal Mart, or the LGS, I just buy a box of ammo, whether I need it or not. Maybe just 50 rounds of Blazer .22.
A single event isnt moving people to buy anything. A single event with legal power behind it will. Why Sandyhook moved people to buy, there was Federal power, willing & able to change the laws to access to guns & ammo.
People here in Kalif havent figured out yet that the new ammo regulations will impact their ability to buy ammo. When fully implemented, it will require annual licensing, then eventually, imo, a restriction on how much you can buy & a per round tax. Since purchase point is limited to kalif, no internet/mail order, no buying across state lines, it is a natural progression to limits & taxation. These laws will go to other liberal states so best to pay attention to it.
There's no such thing as 'too much' ammo, as Kipling taught us. ***
Buy it cheap; stack it deep ... while it's quite available (which it is now, except maybe in Commie-fornia) and relatively cheap in a non-panic market.
I suspect most here, attuned to the political winds, have done so already.
