While I am relatively new to Glocks, having purchased my first a model 19 about a year and a half ago, my 43 has now become my primary CCW. It has proven its reliability and accuracy.
I normally carry IWB at about 3 to 3:30 in a PJ Custom holster under a cover garment. Very comfortable and concealable. But sometimes you just have to tuck your shirt.
I see many here pocket carry this gun. Now, I have a Ruger LCP and a Smith 442 that I sometimes pocket carry, but looking to expand the possibilities with the 43. What Holsters do you use and recommend for pocket carry of your 43?
I should note that I have tried the cheap Uncle Mike's Holsters for fit and while it works ok in the pocket of my Wrangler cargo pants, I find to often the holster comes out with the gun. I carry this gun stock with the exception that I installed the Ameriglo Agent NS. That sharp front sight is catching on the holster I believe.
I don't pocket carry my G43, other than inside by parka in the breast pocket. The only pants I ever felt fit my G43 I gave away recently.
In any case, my two favorite holsters for pocket carry is the Alabama kydex pocket holster and the MIC. I carry my PM9 and G42 in Alabama's and use the MIC for the G42 often.
Another good suggestion. I use mine kind of interchangeably with my MIC, although not quite as often. I used a heat gun on my Boraii (-JCN- suggestion) to curve the hook a little so it doesn't sit quite as flat in my pocket. Less like a giant piece of hard toast.
I have a few pocket holsters, but my primary is the cheapy Uncle Mike's size 4 pocket holster. It costs about $11 at Wal-mart, and about every 3 years you throw it away and get a new one. Works fine for me. Right now I'm rocking an unknown kydex pocket holster for my 42 that was gifted to me. A thin kydex pocket holster is even easier to conceal than the Uncle Mike's, which I find pretty easy to conceal. I'm totally into pocket carry (42, 43, PM9, 442, LCP II), and have been for at least a decade, though I do dabble in OWB under a t-shirt. My body type (upside down Christmas tree) does not conform well to IWB like it once did.
I have Pocket carried a G26 with a Flat Bottom Magazine in the past, using a Mika or a #4 Uncle Mike's. It worked OK in Jeans but was too heavy for Chino's or Slacks. So a 43 is Doable :flag:
I don't think finding a holster is the problem, It's finding pants with big enough pockets.
I'd like to hear recommendations for pants with big pockets. I like wrangler cargo pants but the top pockets aren't big enough to get my hand in there and grab a gun that's any larger than a Glock 42 or a Kahr CM9
Vertex pants and shorts. I like the Legacy (originals) or the Phantom LT. The front pockets are roomy and have a large opening. The thigh pockets are very low profile. They look as casual as a pair of Dockers.
I'm pocket carrying a g26 (which is not as tall, but fatter) in a kydex holster I bought on eBay from jbowe12 in a front pocket of black Wrangler cargo twill pants, 34x30. They run large and have deep front pockets that go below the cargo pocket top. Got a good belt too. They sell the pants at Wal-Mart.
The DeSantis The Nemesis works well for me. All day carry in work pants or off work in cargo pants or shorts. There might be enough room in there for your front sight.
I find the challenge with pocket carrying the G43 in jeans to be the draw; the rear sight can snag on the mouth of the pocket. This doesn't happen with my jframes, especially the S&W M38 in my avatar. I also find that the rear sight accounts for most of the printing in the pocket.
When I shop for pants, the first thing I do is stick my hand in the pocket to see if it is deep enough for pocket carry. If not, I move on to another brand/style. For concealed carry, you must dress around the gun.
I think a lot depends on an individual's specs for pocket carry. To me it's a gun that disappears out of sight and mind. If it's bigger than an lcp, lcp2, pico, rem380, etc it's too big for true pocket carry. A G42 is borderline, a G43 or Shield no way. I think a lot of times a person likes a particular handgun and gives it a role it's not best suited for. Just because a pistol can be stuffed into a pocket doesn't make it a pocket gun - to me.
I'm retired so wear jeans about all the time, as in ALL the time!
Lee Premium Relaxed fit, biggest front pockets I've seen on jeans, though I have not looked at a lot since I found these early on.
Good luck!
That's a good tip for those who wear jeans. I'm retired from doing construction work where I wore jeans ALL the time so now I don't wear jeans anymore.
For a while after I retired I managed an art gallery and I really enjoyed wearing a coat and tie because it was such a novelty for me.

I have found the Cabela's Brand Relaxed Fit work for me, I wore a Sam Brown for a Long time and still wear my pants higher than most. I always look for pants with Deep Crotch and Deep Pockets.
