I have a gen 3 19 and a gen 4 17. The 19 has factory sights and Zev trigger kit. The 17 has Trijicon hd sights and same trigger kit although it is a lighter due I think to a heavier trigger spring. (Someone help me with that please) I had the g3 19 first and acquired the g4 17 later. The only other difference, other than the obvious differences in model’s is I have the medium backstrap with beaver tail on the 17. I shoot the 17 a lot better than I do the 19. At my indoor range I loaded both with 12 rounds each. My target was a 6 plate qualifying target. I would shoot the 19 twice then the 17 twice until both pistols were empty. I consistently shot the 17 better. Is it me or the pistol? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
surprisingly I shoot a G19.4 and a G19.3 better than my G17s Gen3s. I say surprisingly because i have huge hands and the G19 doesn't fit me as well as the G17......
edited to add: I also have 10X trigger time behind a G17 than a G19. weird.
I only have one Glock. Its a Gen4 23 so that's the one I shoot the best. Generally speaking I really like it but I want to do something with the trigger I'm just not sure what. I have well over 1000 rounds through it total with target and defense rounds. I use PDX1 for defense ammo and what ever is on sale for target ammo. I tend to carry it a lot more than I do my shield 9mm mainly because the iwb holster for the 23 is more comfortable and I still haven't found a iwb that i like for the shield. Also due to my size I can conceal the 23 pretty well at 4 o'clock with very minimal printing unless all I have is a t shirt to cover the grip.
The 17, only because I’ve had the discipline to practice the most with it. A 19 ‘feels’ better in my hands. When I first transitioned to the 17 it felt very alien and I didn’t think I would ever figure out my grip (I think it’s still evolving).
There’s certainly no meaningful mechanical accuracy difference between current production Glocks. It’s a matter of what fits your hand and WAY more importantly what you put time into practicing with.
Slow fire...all about the same. If I mag dump, the groups of my 41 open more than the 34. Haven't rapid fired my 35 enough to make any kind of comparison, but what little I have done seems indicative the groups will also be bigger than the 34 groups. After running air wrenches, all day, the G34 feels like a BB pistol. IMO, the G17/34 are rapid fire dreams come true. Unfortunately, no longer have a 17.
Depends by what you mean best. For some reason I've very accurate when I take my time with my G20 but combat accuracy I'm probably better with my G17.
