Was told by gemtech that the can needed breaking in time to function properly with my glock 19. They recommend using 124gr i only have 147.

I bought a 15lb ndz performance spring still basically a single shot gun with can attached. Bought a new 13lb spring havent tried it yet. When it was on my glock 21 45 perfect out of the box. I have steel suppressor sights and a trijicon rmr on the glock 19 slide excess weight could be causing the issue?

Have no idea but it is frustrating

I'm not an SME on cans but I've never heard that a can needs to be broken in before you can fire heavier subsonic rounds through it. If they're saying that your G19 needs to be broken in, then I call BS.

As far as function goes, if it's slamming the slide back with too much force, you need a heavier spring. If it's short cycling you need a lighter spring. You may need to try a few before you find the right combo for your specific setup.

Was it broken, before you fixed it?

Yea the gemtech 45 is a monocore design may be a lil heavy for the glock 19 but a lighter spring weight like a 13 fixes that rite?
Not an SME on cans either, but possibly an issue with the suppressor weight preventing the G19 from unlocking the barrel/disrupting the timing enough to cause consistent issues - how the barrel has to pivot to unlock - adding all that extra weight past the muzzle could explain something, maybe? Could also explain why the lighter spring didn't solve anything.

What barrel choice did you go with? Fitment of the barrel can make a word of difference. Bad lock up due to tolerance issues can cause hic-cups with the added weight that may not be apparent when non-suppressed.

Stock slide? Same thing, tolerance issues.

Switch to a Gen 3 spring assembly yet with the conversion piece? Gen 4 dual recoil spring can be problematic when suppressed.

Silencerco threaded barrel they usually good to go. If thats the issue could go with an aac that worked flawlessly when i had the can on my 21. I had 2 ndz performance recoil springs one in 15lbs the other in 13lbs neither worked. however i did not buy an adapter with the ndz recoil springs did i need one?

SiCo’s are excellent, and my first choice. Fit has always been spot on for me.

I’d try a stock Gen 3 assembly, with the front slide adapter piece to make a Gen 4 slide accept it. Most stock Gen 3 recoil assemblies do fine for me.

NDZ, I use them for engraved products etc... Not on my list of companies to rely on tuning my guns though. Just my 2 cents of course.
