what would you select and why? Let's have some fun with this, it's the end of the year!
For me and after considerable debate with myself, I think I would select the Glock 19. The G19 has proven ultra reliable, excellent size, and performance, and I think Glock factory mags are the best in the business. Besides, how bad can a gun be with only 37 parts!
Personal experience with my particular P226. It’s proven trustworthy to me, and I shoot it very well, which is what really matters to me in the “only one gun” game. I don’t really value the multi-caliber thing as much.
I can't fault Sigs. I have a P220 in 45 that has been a champ in accuracy and reliability. I only mentioned the 23 as the 19 was mentioned. I was going to get a 19 and got the 23 just for the caliber conversion in the same size package. Plus I really like the 357Sig, but sometimes ammo is difficult to find so I have to shoot another caliber to keep my trigger time up.
Probably a S&W TRR8. Light enough to carry, enough rounds of enough cartridge. Super accurate.
Or my G21 (with aftermarket barrel and brake for .45 super). Once again light enough to carry and with hot super loads enough to take elk or for bear defense.
