Want a sign of how burned out and jaded I am....I was willing to defend the officer with the "it could happen to anyone of us" defense until I saw that it was a admin weenie.
Then I changed my opinion to eff him. What an idiot. He shouldn't be issued a weapon.
Haha.
I have in fact came to work twice without my gun in my duty holster. Always had my backup on me though. Something about a newborn keeping you up all night can interfere with your morning routine.

My apologies then. That was for the chiefs who want to micro manage every aspect of an officer's shift vs letting their captains handle things in a way that doesn't end with the department being featured in the news.

A significant number of our admin shouldn’t have a weapon (ND for example) yet are quick to write up the most insignificant infraction. Any write up gets us removed/demoted for two years, they keep a clean record.
