Inspired by the caliber thread. Which firearm or firearm type just doesn’t float your boat???
Which one doesn’t attract you at all???
Me.
Real small autos .380 and under, used to like them. Would rather carry a single stack 9 mm now.
Single action revolvers. I Like the DA option, Single actions are slower to load and clean.
My rifles are used mainly to hunt deer.
Semi auto and pump action rifles. I love pump action shot guns. Pump rifles are not the greatest when shooting off bags for groups and not offered in enough good compact platforms.
Don’t really see the point in Semi autos like Remington 742/7400 or browning bar. Their not as rugged or reliable as the military style semi autos. The eastern block guns like the SKSs and AKs are reliable but crude with only acceptable accuracy. I wouldn’t mind an M1A but there overpriced IMO. AR-15s are accurate and usually reliable. I shot expert with an M-16 in the service. There not bad for varmit hunting. I tried big game hunting with ARs and mini 14/30s and for a variety of reasons, at least for me, they can’t come close to a good light/ medium weight stainless/synthetic bolt action rifle. If I used a rifle for more than big game hunting I might have more of a use for them.
Black powder firearms. Slow tedious loading and need to be meticulously maintained. If I feel need to extend my deer season I’ll buy a cross bow.
