I'm used to 1911's and wanted to get some weight up front so I added a stainless guide rod to G30. No problems and at least I think muzzle flip is lessened. Glock OEM is almost always more reliable but since I no longer use the G30 for defensive purposes I don't mind potentially losing some reliability for shooting comfort. If you life depends on a Glock, keep it stock imo.

This is the problem with Glocks unlike most things in life they just work out of the box but we have a whole industry built around accessories, and Glocks are terrible about scratching the itch to buy things. So I just buy better ammo and more of it and lots of factory magazines in all possible sizes for my 26.
Imagine how many S&W M&P owners would love to have a trigger that just works but you end up with a $2-300 gun (sales rebates and coupons) that needs a $100 apex trigger job...
