G41. 120 gr UW Extreme Defender +P. 11.5mm of 1400+ FPS with Underwood's fluted bullet. It doesn't need a lot of penetration. As soon as it passes through the skull, it's like a stick of dynamite going off. We shot some apples and some Sam's Choice soda cans (unopened) with some, and man, what a show that was.
I used to bring my G20/G40 or my GP100. All sold or up for sale (consolidating calibers). These days my EDC, a Glock 19 and bear spray, if it is not winter.
I used to carry the G20 in the backpack with several mags and a G33 on the hip when I wandered through the everglades. Not expecting trouble really but always had extra room. You never know when you'll get a chance to take out a big python.
Balancing power and weight is the issue. What you might run into is another issue. Two options; S&W 640 .357 magnum; first two rounds are snakeshot followed by 3 FMJ 140 Fiocchi that clock almost 1200 (!) out of that gun.
The other choice is a G43 with two snakeshot followed by 5 FMJ. Yes, the 43 will run snakeshot.

Glock 32 loaded with UW ammo, and a spare glock 31 mag
My 32 is also my EDC but it’s loaded with Federal HST unless I’m headed to the woods
