if you have them all or have fired them all what did/do you have the most fun on the range
I’ll own one of the above today

There is a difference between liking and a fanatic.

I like 9mm because it is economical and it is the lowest powered cartridge in GSSF. Shooting 40 slows you down because of the longer recovery time. Same with 45. I only shoot 45 in major divisions because it goes against the 10mm.

I like the 357Sig. It is accurate and it shows good stopping and penetration capabilities. It is difficult to find at times but it is appearing more and more at Wally World although it is more expensive. I am setup to reload and I have a line for once fired brass.

I did not buy a dedicated 357Sig gun. After reading about the cartridge, my 20C and 23 both have 357 Sig barrels. Probably the easiest conversion in the world, just change the barrel. I didn't have to change the RSA, extractor, or even the magazines.

A G23 and a G32 are essentially identical in size, shape, and weight of major components. All one needs to make an accurate and objective comparison of relative recoil effect is to compute the bullet's muzzle momentum. The same momentum in opposite direction is imparted as recoil to the pistol and shooter.

"Power Factor" is the term used by American shooters for bullet muzzle momentum:

PF = Bullet Weight (grains) X Muzzle Velocity (fps) / 1000

Example:

40SW, 180-gr, 1000 fps from G23
Muzzle Energy = 400 ft-lbf
PF = 180
--versus--
357SIG, 125-gr, 1400 fps from G32
Muzzle Energy = 544 ft-lbf
PF = 175

The 357SIG load produces 36 percent MORE muzzle energy and 3 percent LESS recoil than the 40SW load in this realistic example.

In essentially identical pistols, with similar recoil (Power Factor or momentum) results, the 357SIG load always produces significantly higher muzzle energy.

I love my G23 its an old Gen 2 LE trade in. I shoot it very well and it is by far my favorite pistol to shoot. IMO the .40 SW is still a very modern and capable round and is a great compromise between 9mm and .45 ACP. Muzzle velocity is about the same between .40 and 9mm but the energy on the .40 is over 150 more than the 9mm. So the .40 is has the advantahe in a harding hitting round expending more engergy on impact. If you get full expansion on both rounds they will both average .50" the .40 has shown in many gel tests, that it has a more complete and reliable expantion and penatration is a little better.

The .40 and .357 SIG are fine and effective calibers, but the .45 combines big bore effectiveness, pleasant push recoil and best of all is a low pressure subsonic round.

If something goes bump in the night the .45 will not only stop it, but is the one least likely to leave you with permanent hearing damage.

Based on my Tuesday night indoor matches, with doubled up hearing protection, common sense and the oft quoted DB charts...

.25 ACP 155.0 dB
.32 LONG 152.4 dB
.32 ACP 153.5 dB
.380 157.7 dB
9mm 159.8 dB
.38 S&W 153.5 dB
.38 Spl 156.3 dB
.357 Magnum 164.3 dB
.41 Magnum 163.2 dB
.44 Spl 155.9 dB
.45 ACP 157.0 dB
.45 COLT 154.7 dB

This one doesn't have the .40 or .357 Sig, but you can extrapolate them. High pressure supersonic rounds have a higher DB rating.

I can't speak for the 23 or 32, but I do have a 30 and a 26 and 27. Really enjoy shooting the 26 or 27 but I just can't get a good grip on that big wide 30. I have small hands and I have to shift my grip just a little to the right so I can reach the trigger well. Shifting to the right throws off my aim and just doesn't feel right, or natural, to me at least. So I think I'll sell the 30 and maybe pick up a 36, or a XD Mod.2 45.

That's what I thought too but my 30 is a gen4 and I was told the 30 gen4 was the same frame as the 30s and 30sf. I haven't had a 30s or 30sf in my hand so I'm not sure. All I know is that the 30 gen4 I have just doesn't fit my hand well. Maybe someone on here has had personal experience with all 3 and can tell us if they are the same grip, or not.
Haven’t had any experience with the gen 4 30 so cant say but I was also under the impression that without blackstrap it was same as the SF. Maybe my hands are a little larger than yours. My 30s fits me comfortably in the trigger reach department. While I could shoot the 30 fine and get good consistent hits with it, it was just too uncomfortable shifting my grip enough to get a good purchase on the trigger.

If you will really pay attention it's not more recoil it's actually less but the blast is so much greater, my son and I fired my Glock 23 with Underwood Ammunition and My Glock 33 with Underwood at night and videoed with a Go Pro ,wow the 357sig lit up the back yard.
I finally shot another 50 rounds thru my G32 barrel in my G23. And you're right; the recoil is less than .40S&W. 40S&W definitely has a little more snap.

I think the first time I used my G32 barrel in my G23, I was wearing some pretty thick gloves, and did not have a very good grip on my gun. I was shooting outside on a cold Michigan day. But today at an indoor range, it was great. I was extremely accurate with the first 26 rounds. But I kept pulling the last 24 rounds about 1"-2" left. I think I was just rushing my shots because my time on the range was just about up.

I guess it's time to stock up on some .357SIG range ammo. Once I get more accurate with it, I'll start carrying my G32 barrel in my G23, on occasion.
