You have $900, what duty pistol do you buy?

You wake up this morning to find a box of nine, one-hundred dollar bills in a box with a note attached that reads: 'You must use every cent of this money for a new pistol, or an innocent puppy gets it. You have until the end of the day to make a purchase one way or another.'

What pistol do you buy?

Can you buy a Glock 22 for duty, a 27 for off-duty (@ $400 each) and use the rest for ammo? Because that's the best you'd get for $900. Or get a 17 for duty and 43 for off duty, but you've got even more left over that you have to spend.

There is no $900 duty gun I would choose over those. If I really had to spend $900 on one duty gun, I'd buy a SIg P226, then sell or trade ti and get a Glock for duty. I have actually done exactly that before.

For a duty gun, if I were buying one right now, here's what I would be looking to do.

For the Thanksgiving weekend, my gun club is offering the Gen 4 Glock 41 for $399.97. I would nab one of those, buy some TFX's for it or your night sights of choice, a bunch of 13 round mags and spend the rest on as many .45 ACP practice rounds as I could get.

The last few days, since I received the flyer in my email, I've really been trying to figure out a way I could conceal carry the G41. Not sure if I could realistically do that, but it's a pretty smokin' deal regardless.

I'm pretty sure this is just a fun exercise, not specific situation of the OP.
With that said, it really depends where you work. At my agency, we are mandated and issued G22's. Every Sheriff's Office adjacent to ours makes you provide your own. Of the two other local agencies, one mandates, the other allows for carry of personal weapons, even though they issue G22's.
