That is my favorite carry 90% of the time and I have no issue with carrying my Glock there.
I use to carry a Combat Commander there but it was not that often, a little nerving. I now have a 1911 with a series 80 pin and was wondering what your opinion of carrying a C&L 1911 IWBA. I carried the Commander for over 20 years before I owned Glocks.

Cocked and locked 1911, with user holstering with thumb on hammer, is probably actually safer than most striker-fired pistols in this regard. You have (1) the manual safety, (2) the thumb holding the hammer back, and (3) the thumb in that position putting the grip safety "on safe" if something interdicts the trigger on the way into the holster.
best,
Mas
