...so tired of issues with these new guns. Yeah, it is a Kahr CT45 so for the price, I don't expect much. I shot 260 rounds through it today, it initially had some FTF's then smoothed out to no issues the last 100 rounds. But then I go to take it apart and the slide is ****ing stuck. I researched threads, video's and have tried all the little techniques. Any idea's?

Bought a CW 380....It has been back to Kahr for 3 weeks. I put 100 rounds through it and stoped because my off hand was burised making it go back into battery.
I hope they can fix it because I really want to like this gun for a backup. If they can't I'll just go back to my colt mustang. Never again will I buy a Kahr

Kahrtalk is my go to place for all things Kahr.
Not a big membership.
But good folks with lots of knowledge.
If you want to keep the gun?
I'd join and get some expert advise.

Good Luck!

I'm a new member there, I got some help. I shot 260 rounds today through it and certainly want to give it a try. It isn't going to be a primary carry but one of those guns I grab for quick runs to the store, etc.

I know Kahr calls for a 200 round break-in and I did just that today. Only 100 rounds of the 260 were FMJ and I had a total of 8-10 FTF's, most in the first 100 rounds. The last 2 or 3 may have been me as my hand was tired, perhaps a limp wrist failure or two. I had one FTF in the last 150 rounds, probably me. By the end, it was shooting the Gold Dot 200+p and the HST 230gr JHP without issue. I really like the glass like DAO triggers of the Kahr, but they are not at the top of my list for guns.

Mine was a jam o matic for the first 200.
Was just about sick to my stomach over it (+$800 gun NIB).
It was uber tight and really hard to disassemble/assemble.
Got 500 rounds of Gov over run Winchester Ranger 180 gr bonded JHPs.
Next 100 still had FTFs - but got better.
Finally the gun got looser and the next 100 only had a few FTFs.
After 400 rounds it's been 100.00% reliable with 135, 155, 165 & 180 gr JHPs.
Federal HST, Speer GDHP, Winchester Ranger T-Series and Cor-Bon.
Now It's accurate and reliable with a glassy trigger.

But I have to admit, I've got no appetite for a second one...

I also own three Kahrs, a PM9, a CW380 and a CW45. I don't recall if the 380 didn't hiccup once or twice, but the 45 and the 9 have been pretty darn good. The PM9 is a contender for one of the smallest 9's going (or maybe not, who has surpassed it in weight and size, seriously, I don't keep up on that?).
I just know that I really like mine and have had it for a good while. If I pull the trigger on that gun (PM9), it is going to go bang and it will do it again, etc...
The 45? I got that after I dumped my 30S, which just felt too darn fat for me. I only have room for one fat **** in my jeans waist band...
The 380 works, and is smaller than my LCP, and is ...sexier.

Now, understand, I GET that other people have Kahrs that don't work, me, if I'm just lucky and happen to have three that work? Well, fine.

Hey, OP, also; it looks like your gun has a stippled grip, did you buy it used? Or did you do that right after you got it? If the gun was used, did someone screw with it? And finally, after you got it un-stuck, did you look really close to see what (if any) got gouged up or anything on the slide/frame rail interface?

Kahr lost my support when they upped the trigger weight of their pistols a few years ago. They are made in the Commiewealth of Marxichusetts, so it was likely political pressure that pushed them to doing so. That sucks for everyone else who lives in a freestate and may want to own one of their guns, though.

I have the:
Kahr KP380
Kahr K9 -9mm
Kahr CW9 -9mm

Of those, the K9 is the pick of the litter.

The KP380 and I had issues for 600 rounds, but then - and I remember this - I went thru a mag where everything just felt RIGHT. The KP380 has been perfect since.

No issues with the K9 or CW9, but those of those were bought used. The KP380 was bought new.

Brand new, those are Talon Rubber grips that I put on. It looked like the polymer slides are just so chunked up, break in and all. It needs to be sanded down a bit or the mallet it is.

Non-owner here but have I experience shooting polymer/metal framed Kahrs thanks to a FFL friend who has a gun shop.

No offense to Kahr (or their fans), but it's 2017 and any firearm that needs a "break in" period is not going to be around long.

Seriously, I'm surprised Kahr Arms made it in the industry this long.

Glad the hammer/mallet helped you field strip it.........................................I guess.

There is a lot of group think about Kahrs that has no basis in reality. They are high quality, well made firearms with arguably the best trigger of any polymer gun. The heavy recoil spring makes for a relatively soft shooter with reduced flip. Most Kahr owners, including myself, have found them to be highly reliable. With an open mind and a couple of hundred rounds through the gun, you may become a fan. The fact that some of the new budget Kahrs are arguably the best values in the gun industry does not mean that you should have low expectations. They have the same internal organs as the spendy Kahrs that many of us have come to love. Maybe put 500 rounds through it and report back to us. You may be surprised with how much you have come to like your new Kahr.

Who are you wasting your time on? Have you even read anything since the beginning? One of those I didn't read the content but I'll comment anyway replies. Wast of your time with respect to your conclusion. However, I will sum up for you...I shot the gun, it had some issues with FTF, mainly through the first 150 rounds. Just a couple the next 120 rounds then zero in the last 100 rounds. Its slide wouldn't come off without the smacking of a rubber mallet or go back on without the smack of a rubber mallet after its first outing. Since, it has worked just fine, no issues. So IMO, the gun is good to go for a secondary carry, after 370 rounds. What was your point again?

I had my P380 slide hang up in the exact same location as the OP.

In my case, the frame can been mushroomed in to the point that the RSA was captured. I had been shooting some Underwood +P loads and the recoil had slammed the lower part of the front of the slide into the frame in front of the slide lugs. I finally got the slide off, trimmed the mushroomed frame with an xacto knife so the RSA went in and out smoothly.

No more UW +P for the P380. The gun has been bullet proof other than this glitch that was self induced.
