Hmmmmmmm so i have a budget this month and was going to get a glock 43 to carry... But then i see this unicorn Glock 19 Gen 3 I had once but sold it... Now Im scratching my head cause i never see these and thinking should i buy this and get the 43 later....

This is the Glock 19 that was imported here in a limited amount due to the shortage of glock 19's and was never intended to be sold in the U.S. when Obama became president... Made in Austria Glock Ges.m.b.h with proof marks on the frame slide and barrel... Never has the Ges.m.b.h and says Smyrna Georgia... So basically this is what a true Austrian glock looks like with Markings not for U.S. And has the frying pan finish... Hmmmmmmmmmm buy or pass...

FROM YOUR 7 POSTS IN LESS THAN A WEEK, LMAO!

Hello fellow Glockers, I am both new to the forum and to the Glock Firearms.
OK, So you are New to Glock Firearms (But have toured their plant and know the rare ones, OK)

I’m a Federal LEO so my team and I get to test everything that comes out from guns to ammo.
OK, And you test EVERYTHING IN GUNS AND AMMO that COMES OUT (But are new to Glocks).

I've been a LEO for over 25 years and traveled all over the world hunting the worst of the worst criminals on the most wanted list.
AND you have TRAVELED WORLDWIDE OVER THE PAST 25 YEARS hunting the WORST of the WORST of the MOST WANTED LIST! (Since you were 22)

I have been a avid shooter since then which has made me one of the best operators in my agency.
And you are self proclaimed ONE OF THE BEST OPERATORS IN YOUR AGENCY!

I totally believe you, YOU ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST, HAVE TESTED EVERYTHING AND HAVE HUNTED THE WORST OF THE WORST on the MOST WANTED LIST ALL OVER THE WORLD.

Someday please tell me about your Ninja skills and how you can kill a man with a CareBear and a bottle of ketchup.

Yes I am new to Glocks. I had shot them along time ago and they are a good quality gun. But when you spend 3 decades shooting the same platform of firearm I wasn’t comfortable with the Glock on my hip. Yes 65-70% of law enforcement carry them as their duty weapon, it just wasn’t for me. Now that I’m close to retirement in a few years I thought I’d broaden my
Horizon so to say. So I got a Glock 30 and absolutely love it. My son will only shoot Glocks they fit his hand very well and he’s a better shot with his Glocks than he ever was with any other gun we have. I would recommend my agency to switch to Glocks rather than what we use now. Higher capacity, lighter in weight, multiple upgrades at a reasonable price. I have carried the Glock 21 on raids, 13 rounds And one in the pipe is better than 8 in the magazine. It’s just the unfortunate way government sees fit to spend the tax payers money. To kill someone with a Car Bear remove the stuffing and choke them out. Break the ketchup bottle and slice their throat. But I’m sure you knew that already.

MSims,
That was a good price for an Austrian stamped gen 3. You might have had a more positive response posting the initial question in the "Glock Collector's Club" portion of the forum. The forum members who frequent there are more likely to appreciate rare variants rather than just seeing "a Glock is a Glock is a Glock."

Best wishes

I just can't look at any mass produced and still in production product as if it is rare or collectible, especially when the additional marks are on millions of pistols outside the US. I won't knock someone else for it having special value to them, just can't see it myself.

On a side note, I can only imagine all the butt hurt going around over fish gills and RTF2 being rereleased by those that cherish those things as if they are unicorns.

Those 2009 Austrian made Glock 19's with the proof marks also have the Smyrna Georgia import mark on the bottom of the trigger guard... collectible IMHO and well worth $650. I was watching One on GunBroker about a year ago and saw it sell for $1500 but it was new unfired.
Get it.

I did exactly what you are considering. I had a G19 and a G26 but my son wanted the G26, so . . . .I bought another G19 because I happen to think it is the best of the 9mm Glocks and the price was right. I later bought a G43 because of concealment issues with the G19. Where I live the G19 seems to be the hardest one to find.

Yeah, Italian Berettas have better finishes and US models shoot straighter, blah blah blah. I'm not smelling what you're stepping in. My G19 says Made in Austria, does not matter to me if it was made in China. It is a Glock. I have Smith and Wessons that are collectible. I will never consider a Glock collectible. It's not the reason I have one. Just one. And a lot of S&Ws.

While visiting my favorite LGS this week I just happened to spot one of these G19's from Austria in their used gun case. I looked it over and it was in great shape, pretty sure it had not been shot very much and there was no indication that it had ever been carried. The spare mag looked brand new, don't think it had ever been used. The "born on" date on the envelope with the spent case was 02/25/09. Since I didn't have a 19 in my collection (and had been considering picking one up) I went ahead and purchased this one. It came with the original box, and all the accessories (extra magazine, manual, spent casing shell, etc.). I paid $365.00 + tax. Since I was thinking about picking one up anyway, I thought this one would be neat to own - and the price was right.

By chance, does anyone know, or have any idea, the approximate number of how many of these G19's were imported from Austria during this time frame?

Adding the G43 to your collection is a great idea. I have many Glocks I own and carry concealed. My G43 is now my everyday carry along with 2 extra magazines. The G43 shoots great and I loved it so much now is mostly what I shoot at the range or my backyard. I also have added plus 1 and plus 2 using pierce magazine ext. In uniform as a Leo I carry G22 and G43 as my back up firearm on and off duty.
