As the title states, i have a 24 y/o nephew who has never handled any sort of weapon. He wants to shoot my Glocks, AR's and shotguns. He likes them.
i started teaching him how to break down a Glock and clean, lube. I was wondering if he is safe for indoor gun range. I have taught him never point at a person (unless he intends to pull the trigger), I taught him Texas castle doctrine, how to load the gun and place it in btry. How to load/unload mags and how mags interchange in Glocks. I taught him always keep muzzle down range. What am I missing? I take things for granted because I'm use to being around guys who know this sort of thing.
What say you guys starting out with a new shooter???? Any pointers? Am i missing anything?
Thanks
He wants to shoot the G19 first. He likes it better than others. He also wants to shoot the G17L, G40. Those long slides light up his eyes LOL. So do the AR's and tactical shotguns.
BTW, he is mentally stable LOL.
