I was in one of the lgs yesterday pics up a couple more glocks when one of the workers ask if I would be interested in a LNIB Gen4 37. I replied well it would depend on the actual condition and if for the right price since 45 GAP is very low on my priority list.
So the question is.. Is it worth picking up and what price would make it worth picking up?

I really like that combination of cartridge and pistol but ammunition supply is problematic and usually expensive. I am a reloader so that mitigates those two issues for me. If you are not, and have no interest in becoming one in the future, it may turn out to be a vexing purchase. In my opinion, anything near the $300.00 dollar price tag would probably be too much temptation for me and I already own a G37 and G38.

Most of the G37's that were sold went to law enforcement agencies. When ammo was hard to find 6 years ago many of those agencies swapped over to 9mm as ammo was more available. The used market was flooded with the GAP pistols but the caliber was not embraced by most.

I have seen a non-modified G37 with 2 magazines and the plastic case go for as little as $300 but I routinely see them pop up on Armslist and some of the LGS I frequent for $400-600. As a rule of thumb I use the Blue Label price list as the maximum price for a used Glock.

If you reload, it's a no brainer (IMHO). If you don't reload (or know someone that does), then you need to consider ammo availability. 45GAP is my favorite round. My G38 is my most accurate Glock. I originally got it because it was a small primer round and I had a GSSF coupon burning a hole in my pocket. At the time I had no interest in .40 or 357Sig. Came to really like the round. Very soft shooting, and if you reload, more economical than 45ACP. Uses the same shell holder, dies, powder and projectiles as 45ACP.

Probably the easiest round to learn to reload; big brass, hard to double charge, easy to see into the case, big projectiles (vs those itty bitty 25ACP cases and bullets!)

Looked at the gun a little while ago, it's definitely like new but the guy wanted too much for it being a Gen 3. Told him that the highest I would give for it was 300.00. He may take 300 after realizing that nobody really desires that model or round. It is was it is.....

I do believe Sportsman's Guide has these in stock right now Leo trade-ins for around$287 last Leo trade-in I got from them was one mag no box but in really good shape like it was refinished at the factory slide with almost brand new with just a little bit of wear on the frame
I've been tempted to get a 45 Gap myself if it wasn't for the Exotic ammo

Target Sports USA has a case lot of Speer Lawman 200gr for $279 shipped. The internet is your friend. Big box stores like Wally World and Bass Pro wont carry the ammo but any LGS will get it for you.

It is not exotic if you also happen to reload. It uses the same dies and projectiles as 45 ACP.

I see the G37 for between $300 and $400. Especially the police surplus guns. I saw a LGS advertising a G37 OD Gen 3 for $350 and it was gone by the time I called. It was a 1 1/2 hour drive but that would be nice in a Glock Perfection Collection.
