Do you use the grippy part at the front of the trigger guard?

When I owned 23's and 27's I tried to use that grippy part at the front of the trigger guard with my off hand (index finger, of course) while shooting, but it actually made my accuracy worse.

I have a G20 now, and have not thought of trying to use that, but am going to try it out considering this is a full size frame and it may work even though the 23 and 27 didn't.

Do you use that grippy thing at the front of the trigger guard?

While I'm not a competition shooter
this guy I believe is and hear he has been pretty successful.

Evedently no one has told Jerry he is gripping the gun wrong and to shoot GOOD he needs to do it like all other competition shooters.

As I stated above I do what works for me, just because you or anyone else "says" that your/their way is best don't make it true for me and MY shooting.

like I always tell my students, it’s not the only THE way, it’s just my way.

To quote the late Frank Sinatra, who was probably close to people who could shoot, or at least use a ball bat, "I Did it My Way". I used to shoot pretty good with that grip, but now I shoot pretty damn good with the more conventional grip.

I know it’s no longer popular or considered proper, but I still do and place my finger on the front of the trigger guard. The new thumb forward grip doesn’t really work for me as well as the old grip I was schooled in. I tend to shoot better with my left thumb over my right thumb....
