Gunshop operators say the Gen4 Glock 34 will be discontinued in favor of the Gen5. Gen3 will stay in production. Anybody care?
Sorry for typo in heading of thread.

Nope! I have my Gen4 G34MOS. I am good!

Anything Glock decides to do with the G34 from here on out may impact others, but not me.

All of you are on your own! Abandoned. Sorry! I am selfish that way.

LOL. I have a Toshiba laptop running Win7, but another running the Windows Vista OS that's still going strong at this very moment, and has done so since 2007. Heck I've had it running non-stop for nearly a year at a time since purchase with no issues whatsoever, although the CD player did give up the ghost about 4 years ago...no biggie.

I guess this is why I'm finding myself with absolutely no interest whatsoever in updating to the "new" Glock Gen5? So much for progress :animlol:

A Ti-994a was my first machine back in 1980. Talk about computing pOwEr, ha!
Well for what it's worth the laptop I bought back when Vista was the new thing has been gifted to my parents... after I installed Linux on it because I want to have a life outside of helping them clean out viruses from it over the phone, but (until I get my gen 5) my only glock is a Gen 4 and I've never had an issue with it.

Comparing the Gen 4 to Vista is just plain crude lol.

Giving the climate of Glock these days, the Gen 4 line is the backbone of that company.
Not to get too far off into the weeds, but I don't think Vista was actually all that bad. It's main problem was just that its system requirements were above what almost anyone had at the time. At least vista felt complete, unlike 8 and 10, with all the mixed styling in their menus and icons. Kinda reminds me of the gen 5 frame not matching the slide when I think about it lol.

I'm pretty sure the gen 3's aftermarket is still bigger than the gen 4's, and will probably continue to be that way due to the increasing popularity of 80% gen 3 glock lowers. I know I'd kinda like to get one eventually just because it would be fun to go crazy customizing one.

I understand your perspective. I was coming from a different perspective, as in my Gen 4 works every single time I ask it to, without locking up, freezing or questioning me.

Three places you're most likely to get either bad information or a falsehood given to you on purpose:

1. Bar/Tavern
2. Internet Forums
3. Gun Shop Counter
Politicians? Politicians have to crack the top 3!

Let's go with "Gun Shop Attendant" in first, followed by "Politicians" at number two. Fair?

Most info found in gunstores is ridiculous. Full of blow hards and know it alls....

Last week i went to hold a 19m and the salesman told me that having a ccw license isn’t good enough, i needed my foid card too. Huh????

A different guy there told me the same thing when i went to use the range previously.

They're opinons, just like AH's. Lacking knowledge and making shiz up about the product you're selling is another thing and is inexcusable. Working at a gunshop is not dangerous. Dealing with fools well and knowing the bare minimum about the product you're selling is madatory. I buy online. My local shops stopped showing me the old school way long ago. I buy online and save my brain and money. Do not feel bad - at all.
