I know this is a Glock forum, but just wondering what you all think of the new M&P 2.0? I already have a G34, but with it being on sale and the pretty awesome rebate going on, I've been thinking about getting the 5" M&P FDE model.

I have been shooting steel with my 2.0 and tend to shoot it well and accurately. No failures and shoots everything I have put through it. I like the aggressive texture and ergonomics better than my G34. I like the trigger reset, travel and break and will most likely not do an upgrade. I feel the gun is a great value for what it sells for.

Since I'm a Glock 23 fan, I'm really interested in the 2.0 compact .40. I like the M&P, my only reason for not carrying one at work and off duty is I get the 23 for free. I also have holsters and magazines every where, along with a 27 in the mix. But hey, holsters and magazines can be sold, so who knows.

I’m a big glock guy as well. I had a 2015 build M&P 9 before and so the trigger wasn’t as awful as some of the older ones. I have no plans to sell my glock 19 or 34, I’d just be adding the M&P just to have one to add into the shooting rotation

I have a glock 34 and the 5" M&P 2.0 Full Size. They are pretty much identical in size.

I didn't like the adjustable sights on the 34 (or the glock U in general) so they have been replaced with a set of fixed night sights. The M&P still has the original three dot non-night sights on it and I don't plan to replace them.

I really like the M&P 2.0 grip texture and the gun just generally feels better in the hand than the glock. The backstraps are much easier to change on the M&P.

I shoot them both equally well.

If I could only buy one of them I'd pick the M&P over the 34. Having said that I wouldn't want to sell either of them.

I plan on buying either a gen 5 glock 19 or a M&P 2.0 in the next month or two depending on budget post Christmas. I still contemplate the Sig 320 and or the Walther, but right now it seems like the 2.0 compact and glock are at the top of the list. I may try to get some 1:1 time with a trainer and see what their opinion is on how I shoot them, feel, etc. I've shot both several times, but nice to have an unbiased opinion from someone else.

I really like the M&P 2.0 and am patiently waiting for the Beretta APX compact, I have the full size APX and a compact rivaling the G19 or M&P 2.0 compact comes out i will have a tough decision ahead, Barely missed out on getting a full size APX with night sights and FDE frame the other day.

I picked up a 2.0 .45acp, and love it. I've put 400 rounds of ball ammo, 12 rounds of Underwood Extreme Defender, and 40 rounds of HST through it without a hiccup. Clean it today and it goes on duty as a carry gun. Gonna grab a 2.0 Shield next. They are great pistols IMHO.

Sportsman Outdoor Superstore was selling the 2.0 compact for $399 with free shipping. I picked the new FDE with TFX sights in the original 4.25" barrel length for $549 with free shipping just the other week. That was the cheapest I found that model at. TruGlo is definitely proud of these sights. If I didn't really like the FDE I would have got the compact and put the sights on after the fact... but I had a 5" FDE in .40 that I sold and missed so I wanted the FDE again.

I like the one a coworker is switching to. I am really thinking of picking up a compact as a retirement gun.

I recently bought a Shield 9mm, (no safety), and a Long slide FDE M&P 9mm.

The FDE has a safety, the more I have it, the less I like the safety. It is easily removable. S&W sent me the frame plugs for free, so once I remove the safety, the frame won't have any holes in it.

I tried one last week and thought it was nice but it is not for me probably because of my larger hand size. The small grip and that the trigger breaks way back made it a pistol I could not shoot nearly as well as my other pistols including my Gen 2 Glock 19 with Grip Force adapter, Walther PPQ 9MM, HK VP9, and even my Walther PPS. A large back strap may help for me but I have my doubts. If you have larger hands you may want to be sure and try out the M&P 2.0 at the range before buying. I was really hoping that it would work for me with the M&P 2.0 Compact selling for $389 at Grabagun.

If I ever get another striker fired pistol it will most likely be the Gen 5 Glock 17.

I rented an M&P with a safety a few months ago and that is a safety for people that really want a safety and plan to use it. I thought it would be more like the safety on a Shield which is small and slim to the point you can ignore it if you want to. But the one on the full size gun is too big to ignore. I even managed to bump it with my thumb while shooting once and disable the gun.

If S&W offered the 5 inch full size 2.0 without a safety or with a Shield style safety I might have bought one. I know they can be removed but buying a gun without one to start with seemed easier so I decided to go with a 2.0 compact instead.
