Thanks to those who made this possible. Weather was a bit warm, but not too bad. There was lots of shade and the local BSA troop had lunch available. There was a mild log-jam at M but pasting targets helps make that go fast. Looking forward to Prelims in the coming future. Thanks again to GSSF staff, Topton staff, Scouts, and those who came out to work the match.

For those of you who have stayed away from this match because of past issues, I'd urge you to give it a try next year. If this past weekend was any indication, Topton is getting better each year. In fact, according to many of the competitors, this was the smoothest-running Topton match in many years.

ALL of the volunteer Range Officers worked extremely hard to, not only run competitors through, but also to repair the damage from Saturday night's storm. Upon arriving at the range at 7.30 a.m. Sunday, we found that a down-burst had completely destroyed all of the courses and we had to re-build everything.

A lot of the pop-ups that the ROs had loaned to the range were totally wrecked had had to be put back together with spit and bubble gum...oh, and duct tape...lots and lots of duct tape! (Thank you Steve).

All in all, this was another fun weekend brought to us by Lou, Steve and the exceptional GSSF staff.

I live near Topton, PA, was unaware of the event. Would have loved to see it and support those participating. If it wasn't done so, through a Thread on GT next year prior to the event as a reminder. Thanks.

Trust, it has been held in Topton for the last 20 years and advertised here in the GSSF forum every year since year 2000. If you join GSSF you will get notice in the Glock Report mailed you you twice a year plus an e-mail from GSSF about 4 weeks before the match.

Well a little delayed comment,
I had a great time, It was great to see every one. I worked at the Glock M on Saturday squadding 4 bays and that was the busyest I ever was at a match, I made a mistake or 2 with putting stickers on the wrong sheets but I finally got the brain and the hands to work together. The fellow I worked with at the table was a pure pleasure to work with, You would of thought he was getting paid he worked so hard. Just before 11 am I already had 7 sheets full I never worked so fast paced before. The RO's running the folks were like a machine, Just eating up shooters, . My hands were full at the table or I would have made my rounds getting tappers. I forgot his name but I could here one of our RO'S saying "I AM HERE ALL DAY,YOU DONT HAVE TO BE" PLEASE Help tape it makes it go quicker. We also had a fellow who stayed down range and was always the last one out. The so called traffic cop. I LOVE when we have this as its makes me feel very safe and secure knowing on a busy range there is only one person to call it hot! and I think it makes for a quicker match as he is pushing the folks out of the range so we can go hot again, Remember get the signatures behind the table not on the range. Now when shooting I learned some thing new, When I went to shoot on Sunday, I went up to the plates and there were 4 empty bays, I was put on one and the sun was shinning. I put my sun glasses on and shot the entry and after I was trying to wipe all of my swet off my face to shoot the next 3 entries, the brane kicked in and said ,GO SHOOT IN THE SHADE! I realized I should shoot in the next empty bay in the shade.
And yes there was an over night storm that destroyed some tents but the early arriving RO and staff had every thing fixed by 8:30 am Great job folks.

This was a great match and I look forward to it next year.

I forgot to mention the boy scouts. They worked there butts off , its great to see them out working, I hope I don't offend any one but some of the scouts down state NY are learning how to make "Sit Upons" and make fire starter from dryer lint and old milk cartons. The scouts else where are at the shooting range pasting targets and shooting.

So I am leaving the Glock M bay and I pass this scout with this look on his face like he just got introduced to man hood, Smiling ear to ear as if his head was going to split in half. I asked him how did he do? Well the joy that came out of that kid explaining how he shot, Well thats what GSSF is all about. That was one happy kid. A kudos to the person who brought these kids out. Keep up the good work your positively effecting these kids .
Lou thank you for allowing me to help out I enjoy the work as much as I enjoy the shooting
