I have been shooting guns for less than 5 years. Right now the S&W rebate is currently going on. I have read multiple times how "this is the best deal this century" or "best deal in a long time". So, have you seen a better New Gun from the Factory Nation Wide "deal" in your day? I'm not talkin used sales. I'm talking new from factory to your gun store. Anything come to mind that you recall? Feel free to share.

I'm not looking for current deal but stories of yonder in which may have been equivalent "deals".

Walther has a $100 rebate on some of their new guns right now, is that what you mean?
Seems like that and this S&W rebate are both terrific, not sure how common these things are, I only got back into following gun stuff the past few months, so the past 20 years a LOT seems to have happened!

S&W had a 40% off sale for military and various first responders a few years ago. Took advantage of it.

As a humorous side note, after a reasonable period of time I had not received the gun and called S&W. Seems that another guy in Alaska of all places (I was in NM then) had ordered the exact gun on the same sale and they sent him my gun! They got me mine shortly thereafter. What are the odds of that happening? Don

It's the best that I have seen. The rebate is great of course, but the sale prices that many retailers have had in addition to the rebate makes it a terrific deal. I would not have bought my .45 without it, but I felt that I just couldn't pass it up. I'm thinking I should have bought a .40 too, and I'm not even a fan of that round.

They didn't come close to the federal contracts. After carrying 1 for a year, I got permission to go back to either my Walther or Sig. Great deal but deals like this are usually sell offs before a model change & support dump or getting ready for a major change of some type. Especially with the rebate it puts them way below dealer. Markup up weapons has gone way down since election.

BTW S&W did a deal like this just before they were dumped by Walther & again when the Sigmas came out. The only Smith I personally would buy these days is a revolver or a gen 3 semi if they would guarantee support, told me they didn't have any parts for a 5906 (recoil spring) glad plenty available from wolf even the blue cases are on secondary market from a lot of wholesalers. Locally 1 department had carried .45acp M&P for almost 8 years now bidding for sig or glock 30/19 depending on duty

Last week I made the purchase of a S&W SD40VE..(14+1) for $299.00 with a $25.00 rebate...$274.00....Great gun, just sort of hate the l-o-n-g trigger, which is supposed to "make one think before firing" the gun since it is specifically titled SD for Self Defence... That can be fixed with an Apex trigger for about $30.00..may be able to adjust to this present trigger, don't know yet.

If you're in the market for a Bushmaster AR, they currently offer a $150 rebate on any rifle except the QRC. The QRC has its own $75 rebate.

Just remember these arent the Bushmasters of 10-12 years ago don't get online make sure you have a qualified person check them out my son bought 1 last week we had to go through 4 prior to finding a all in spec 1. Buffer tube was out of round on 2 the 3rd needed wedges out of box. Freedom Group QC. For a match normally we would have sent a build but this was for a class so no $3500 getting in cargo. Just ordered a a 6920 for late fathers day present. Since divorce is going through and house looks good to sell we are going to start hitting match

I bought my S&W SD9VE at Ft Lewis, Wa for $280, no tax and then with the military rebate ended up getting it for $230. I bought my M&P 9c at Ft Lewis, Wa for $399 and with the military rebate ended up being $350. Both good guns. The M&P 9c is one of the best weapons I've ever owned, highly accurate and goes boom every time you pull the trigger regardless of ammo. My EDC pistol.

PSA has thrown in free shipping and has the Shield for $275. So, $200/shipped after rebate. In the past, S&W rebates could be completed online.
I live 5 hours or less from PSA & would pay not to buy anything from them. Had way to many of AR lowers that should be marked 3rds that people have brought me to build an AR for them. Currently they are selling an AK/AR combo for $900that are as accurate as a WASR. A Charles Daly was better. BTW
anyone have a Charles Daly Hi-Power buy it or LMK. I truly am at the point of going back to the old hammer metal frames. Sick of the newest polymer of the week. We seem to get either a new one or variation almost monthly

The HS2000 was selling for mid-$200 new back before they were rebranded as XDs. That was a good deal.

If you want to talk about deals, look at ARs now. You can get a new S&W Sport II for $600 now. That's insane. You can get a Colt 6920 LEO for just over $700 if you shop around and get a break on the shipping. Also amazing.

Springfield Armory has their Gear Up promotion going on until June 30, 2017 (2 days left)

Buy a gun and get $180 worth of mags (4) mag pouch (1 double) and right handed holster.

Pretty good deal.

When I bought my XDS 9 a couple years back, they had the same kind of thing going and it was a nice deal. The range bag they sent was an extremely good range bag. Speaking of deals, I picked up a DPMS Oracle 5.56/.223 a couple of months back for $399.99. Can't go wrong with that.
