When I first saw a G26 I said "what an ugly little brick". Years later After several Glocks added to the collection & particularly liking the G23 I got a good deal on a never shot G27. For some reason I like the .40 over other rounds (have a G19 & G43 plus some non Glocks). The G27 will get some belt time along with the go to easy to carry G43. Ugly as she is I can shoot it as well as my favorite pistol the G23 but easier to conceal.
The 27 was my CCW for a long time. After spotting bear tracks in my backyard I switched over to G-29. I carried both weapons inside my waistband within a trigger holster. To my surprise I discovered that the 29 stays where I put it but the 27 tends to ride up and out of my belt. I use a red-dot sight on both guns. The red-dot serves as stop on the top of my belt and prevents it from dropping down into my paints. The G-29 configured as shown in the avatar is my CCW and I can keep it hidden and it's fairly comfortable.
Where I go hiking with my dog & hunting there are bears. I was just looking into the 10mm Round, G20SF or a G29 to carry over my G23 in those situations. I have a 44 mag. But it's a tank. I was just watching videos on red dot/pistols. My only other red dot is on my AR15 & my aging eyes really like it. Do you have a picture of your setup? I carry outside in the woods & IWB kydex for concealed.
As to the weapon it's self, you can make the weapon even more deadly and accurate by putting on a longer barrel. This also reduces flip making easier to get the second round on target. I found the Lone Wolf "LWD-29XL 10" works on the G29. There are two problems when you change to this barrel:
1) Now it's too long carry Mexican style, in your waist band, because the barrel will poke you.
2) You will need to change the setting on your red dot to accommodate this barrel.
The good news is it's hard to miss with this weapon! The trajectory is so flat for so far, that you do not need worry about how close or far the target is. If the red dot is on the target and you don't flinch you are going to hit it. The extra mass of the barrel only helps. I make my own trigger holsters because no one makes one that I like.
Both my eyes are 77 years old and I'll take all the help I can get. LOL
The G-27 is a lot of power in tiny package. It stings my hands and is no fun to shoot for a long time. The G-29 is even more power but the slide is a lot heaver and making the 29 more of a pleasure to shoot than the 27.
I'm probably one of the few that doesn't find the Glock lineup to be ugly. I actually like the looks for their intended role. A no-nonsense SD/HD handgun that is completely reliable and easy to maintain.
The 27 may be my favorite. A lot of punch in a small package. If I was ever limited to owning just one, the 27 has a lot of versatility with conversion barrels (to include longer ones) and higher capacity magazines.
I actually like the looks of my other Glocks it's just the color of the FDE vickers. I've had FDE frames before but this is my first all FDE gun. I don't think the paint on the slide will last very long anyway and if it doesn't I will send it for NP3. Chubby girls need love too.
I thought Glocks were ugly for an awefully long time. (Even after I bought my first). Like fine wine, appreciation for the look comes with time. I now judge all other handguns against Glock standards and I've not found one that compares yet.
Like things that live in the desert, the Glock 26/27 is "ugly" for a reason, although personally I loved the looks of my 26/27. Sleek, dark, and dangerous looking. And if those pistols were living things and were aware of their capabilities, they would probably have a "ugly" smile that they would flash when they heard that term used about them.
Kind of like Douglas Mortimer's (Lee Van Cleef) on the train when he's told the train doesn't stop where he intends to get off in "For a few Dollars More".
Yeah. A grin like that.

I liked the looks of all my other Glocks but the G27 when I first saw it I gasped a bit. Gun grew on me. I actually Like chubby chicks. Good & reliable I have not yet shot the smooth triggers I installed on my G27 & G23, l think will like them.
I think you will. I have smooth triggers on my 27 and 23. Also have the g35 trigger setup and extended slide release also. So both my 23 and 27 shoot the same as my 35 other than size.

Yeah, It does but to each their own.
I like it myself and has never let me down in any of my pistols chambered in it. I shoot it well and accurate and keep up with my range time.
Thank you, ron/mikey/rfd, the lil brute grows on you, oh I have all the others 17/19/22/23/26/30/42/43, this is the one I have on me 90% of the time and dress up never down depending on the situation, a fifteen round back up mag balances out my other side.
The g27 has been my edc for a long time. My g35/tlr-1 is my nightstand companion and my g23 rides in the truck or car on trips.
