Good gunbelt with a good warranty?

I know there are as many different opinions as there are belts. I had a Looper Leather belt which is a leather/kydex/leather sandwich. I broke it, sent it back, got a new one, broke it as well. I got tired of dealing with them so I gave up on that route.

I guess I need to get real, and maybe expect gun belts to go the way of the non-gun belts? Only it takes longer for the gun belt to fail?

Are my expectations too high?

My oldest gun belt is a Beltman belt and is now around 10 or more years old. It's going strong. I "outgrew it" and bought a longer one and it's like the day I bought it. I have had nothing to complain about other than I need Brown when I had Black, and vice versa.

Oh, I had the Chicago screws loosen up and had to Loctite them. I carry full size pistols. Presently it's a G41 on the belt.

Out of curiosity, how long did you use the belt before it broke, and how did it break?

I'd recommend trying either a leather belt (something like Beltman, Accustomgunleather, etc) or a synthetic belt (something like Atlas, Brown Coat Tactical, etc).

Seems like there is more to break/loosen/come apart with a hybrid belt. A good belt should last for many, many years. I have an Alessi leather belt that is getting close to 15 years, but it's lost a lot of rigidity. Just got an Atlas G-hook (on sale for $35), and it's amazing.

The belt maybe made it a year. The kydex broke and once that happened it was toast since it depended on the kydex. I suspect had it been all leather it would have just stretched.

ETA: I've never owned a good leather gun belt so I can't measure or evaluate gunbelts fairly.

I have a couple Crossbreed belts, about $60.They were great but now they are just ok since I found out that my local Amish tack and harness shop makes much better conceal carry belts for $19 bucks and life time warranty.Maybe give that a try if you are fortunate enough to have one in your area.

I've bought several of the Looper belts, all branded Blade-tech, because they carry them at the LGS. I have them in brown and black, in both skinny and fat sizes.

I've never had a problem with any of them. :dunno:

For nylon I recommend the A.H.T. by X-Concealment. The nylon is stiffer than a Wilderness belt and the buckle is made of aluminum and is much lighter than the Wilderness as well as looks better in my opinion.

I just bought a couple Daltech Force leather ccw belts. So far so good. They have a lifetime limited warranty.

I currently have a decent leather belt from Urban Carry (to go with 2 of the UC holsters) that's been working well. I've only had it for a few months but so far so good. My only complaint is that the sizing isn't quite perfect for me, and I hate the idea of punching a new hole. I've noted a few of the suggestions here for future reference.

I do indeed. I don't know if I can get that kinda pricing tho. They are pretty savvy around these parts.

Cool. It would pay to check them out then. I went to our Amish harness shop just to have some work done on my saddle. It turns out that they became very savvy to world of concealed carry so now they also make holsters and belts. They had a rack of about 200 CC belts to choose from.I had a hard time making up my mind. They do nice work under candle light.

Yup, the Wilderness Tactical Original Instructors belt, 5 stitch. That s not only my everyday carry belt, but the same belt I use for USPSA/Steel Challenge/IDPA and 3 gun since the early 90s. A gun belt can never be too stiff, but it can easily be to thick.

I also wear a black Ares Ranger (was the instructor) belt. Not the most comfortable belt for driving, but most comfortable for shooting.

To wash it I litterally leave it on my jeans and toss it in the machine. Can't do that with leather.

I wish they could make one with a STEEL strip in it to make it world record stiff. I know there was a leather belt guy that made belts with steel sewn inside them. Never got to try one.

Anyone tried one of these?:
