I like them. As long as the don't put them on the 34/35/41. You can just grab the nose on those like a Gov't 1911. Looks fine to me. Front serrations on a 5" 1911 are ugly IMO. But on a Glock? Bwahhaha, who cares, as long as they're functional.

I have to remove the mag on my G23.4 to get a good smooth press check. Too much friction otherwise, and I might accidentally rack it. Never had that problem with my Gen3.

Super nice pics. Thanks for sharing.

Who buys a glock because it is such a good lookin pistol? That front slide serrations make it "ugly". If I bought my carry pistol based on it's looks - it wouldn't be a glock!
Front slide serrations really help a southpaw press check or clear a stoppage, as long as you remember to keep your hand/fingers away from the muzzle.

Girls...girls!!!

I can't tell who's who in the above video, but I think that's bigbrother1984 on the left and skyboss_4evr on the right...heehee ;)

Anyway, after just checking my inventory, out of the many handguns I own, only a few have front slide serrations...an older used Mitchell Arms Gold Series '95 which I purchased for no other reason than it was in absolutely mint condition with it's original factory box, nomenclature, and 2 original OEM stainless steel mags - at a great price:

...a used FNH FNS-C9, with it's original box, nomenclature and four OEM mags, also acquired at a great price:

...and two used Tanfoglio's; a Witness in .45ACP and a Witness Match Combat Sport 10 in 10mm; neither came with factory box or papers but both are mint and were acquired at prices very much below current value:

The above pistols (which in my opinion were all barely used - if at all) with front slide serrations, I feel have an inherent beauty, whereas the Glock serrations are just so...gosh awefully bland...

Regardless, to be completely honest, I have no need whatsoever for front slide serrations and I certainly didn't purchase the above pistols for these attributes...they were just there. I don't feel they're necessary nor do I have the desire of ever using them on any pistol, so a Glock with simple front serrations, steel sights and Xtended controls (which they should come standard with anyway IMHO), just doesn't rev me up in the least to rush out and buy one because, well, it's still just another Glock, LOL!!!

In the end it doesn't matter, it's whatever floats your boat that counts, be it front serrations, TiN coatings, or lipstick (that was for you Mike-M) :D

I am still trying to decide on a holster, but will likely go with a kydex one for the closer ride.
I'm not sure why the front cocking serrations would effect an ALS holster...don't most of them retain onto the trigger guard anyways?
The Safariland 6360/6365 series type holsters use an internal lock that works with the ejection port cutout where the barrel sits. The lock mechanism is in a horse shoe type configuration and locks down into the ejection port area when the pistol is holstered. We had some officers that had serrations cut into their slide, to match the back serrations, and they would hang up on the lock when drawing. It didn't prevent the gun from coming out of the holster all the time, but it did catch enough to cause issues.

This also occurs with the 6378 ALS holster as well. I use them for soft uniform and range use.
For that reason when I had them cut them into my duty glocks, I had them done with an angle like the Salient Arms cuts. This would prevent the lock from catching.

The serrations only effected the ALS series of duty holsters. They won't cause any problems with any other holsters out there. I was just curious, as the 6360 ALS holsters are required here, and if any of the guys want to get one of the new glocks, it would be nice to know if this was an issue with them.

Thanks

TXPO

NOT night sights. They are steel sights (slight upgrade from the standard plastic sights).
No, they are tritium filled night sights...Maybe because it's a blue label it came in this configuration...

My bad. Like you say, maybe the blue label come with night sights. The Summer Special run poster lists:
G17 Gen4 + G19 Gen 4 now with Front Serrations, also featuring steel sights & extended controls.

Good thinking. Gives you the rationalization to get the one you actually want when you finally come across it. :cowboy:

Visited the Dallas GT Distributor this afternoon to fondle the G19.4 with Front Serrations. They still have not gotten red label stock of the G17 and G19. The blue label had night sights. All the G17.4 got sold already but they still had some G19.4 (of which they said they got more of than the G17.4). I like it and got my name on the list for when they get red label delivery of the G19.4. :cowboy:

I'm one who never uses front serrations for reasons already explained. That said, I wouldn't pass on a gun because they were there. It's like the block safety on some Marlin rifles. It's there, but never use it.
