Uh oh, you may have just opened a can of worms. The anti-Springfield Armory contingent will probably be along shortly to tell you you shouldn't have supported such a traitorous company.
Congrats on the purchase though. Since it has a thumb safety, can it be carried cocked and locked?
It's good to see a company offering a slimline, polymer gun for those that prefer a hammer.
I have been able to handle one at my LGS. It felt pretty good in my hand. For now at least, I have moved over completely to strikers and revolvers as carry weapons. Options are a good thing. I'll be watching for your range impressions.
Nice gun.
I had an original xD 40.
Loved the fit, weight and performance but I couldn't hit the side of a barn with it, had to trade it in before I have it a fare chance to get a duty Sig 229. I think I should give the XD another chance.

I have the XDs and it's a good gun. My wife likes it because she can operate all the controls.
You may know Springfield is offering a deal I think on all XD. Four free mags. holster and mag pouch. That was the reason I got the XDs three free mags.

Let us know how the DA/SA pulls compares with other DA/SA pistols.
What I like about a pistol such as this is one could carry Mexican in a pinch if one found himself running out for bread at the last minute and forgot a holster....
Would NEVER do that with a Glock (light striker fired) type gun!
I only own one DA/SA pistol that I bought about 50 years ago. But I could never get used to the DA/SA trigger pull. So I virtually never carried it. Since I never sell a gun, it still sits in my safe.
The problem for me was the long DA trigger pull for the first shot, then the transition to a single action trigger pull. That usually resulted in me not being able to accurately control the second shot in rapid fire. After the second shot, then things settled down and the rest of the rounds hit just fine.
Well, I sold it. I shot it - but I found I prefer the doublestack P2000sk 9mm I have. The XDe is actually the same size as the P2000sk, just a tiny bit thinner.
Maybe it was the thinner frame - but I found I had to work too hard to hit the center of the target,. The gun was accurate - so, it's not the gun. I just find I don't have to put that much effort into shooting my HK.
Gun is actually same weight at the P2000sk as well. And, I have a 10 round mag in the P2000sk compared to the XDe 8 round magazine (flush mag). In the fornt pocket of my cargo pants - both guns printed about the same. Decided the XDe wasn't for me. I knew I'd never actually carry it in favor of my HK P2000sk.

I actually rented it - they do $5 for 5 shots at my range. Or, I would have had to buy a whole box of ammo (which is higher priced than the store)and pay another $10 range fee. I played with it and did the 5 shots. I seemed to like it.
But yea - once I got it home and messed with it. Compared it directly to my P2000sk. And, shot it 175 times - I could tell I'd never carry it at that point. It was just going to sit in the safe
Well, at least you experienced it.... and now can comment on it based on actually owning and shooting one, unlike most people that will pass judgement before even holding one, let alone shooting it.
It's a great thing that most of us here are able to run out, purchase a new piece, and then immediately sell it off if we don't like it. It's part of enjoying this freedom.

I simply won't buy one because of the whole "Grip Zone" lettering.
Too "monster trucky" for me...
