This morning marks the opening of the 2017 NRA Annual Meeting, which is being held in Atlanta. To mark this occasion GLOCK will be announcing a special production run of pistols for the summer. Because you are a member of GLOCK ID, we wanted you to hear the news first, from us, before the general public finds out.
The Summer Specials feature a number of pistols and features the GLOCK community has been asking for. These include G17 Gen4 and G19 Gen4 pistols with front serrations, steel sights, and extended controls. Our Summer Specials also include a return of the G17L and the G24, as well as the introduction of Gen4 editions of the G17C and G19C. We are also producing the G17 Gen4, G19 Gen4, G42, and G43 with factory-installed night sights. In addition to these pistols, we are producing a series of pistols with Olive Drab frames: the G43; G26 in Gen3 and Gen4 models; and the G17, G19, and G34 in Gen3, Gen4, and Gen4 MOS configurations.
These pistols will be available at your favorite GLOCK dealer beginning in June and throughout the summer. We hope you will stop by your local dealer to check it out.
Finger grooves appear to still be there in the pic.
Only main difference is the forward serrations on the slide for those who like to "chamber check" or rack the slide from the front.
Seems like they are just filling a gap to try to appease customers until the next gens come out. Sort of like what Microsoft did with Windows ME and Vista
Serrations on the front are just cosmetic to me, Im sure others will use them on their boots or something. Ive got the itch for a black Glock as all of mine are snot green or doody brown, wonder what the extra price will be?
Aesthetically, the front serrations just don't took appeasing to me. Almost out of place if you will. Funny that I'm referring to Glocks as being pleasing to the eye. LOL. Anyway, the only firearm I have that has front serrations is my Legion P226 which seem to blend into and with the gun more. I'll pass.
I will say that it's nice to see Glock doing some effort to change things up a bit.
The slide serrations are a mirror cut of the rears and look too long and forward. If they got rid of the finger grooves and beveled the front slide edge I would be a little interested.
Glock should have gotten rid of the finger grooves long ago, or at least offered a model without them. If they came out with one now it would be too late. They've missed the boat as far as I'm concerned. Other companies have innovated and left them behind to gloat in their "Glock perfection". You may wonder why I'm bashing Glock on a Glock forum. After selling off my Glock I stuck around here for the news, gun porn, and witty conversations.
I got the same email from GLOCK. I concur with the view that the equal number of back & front serrations look weird (specially on the G19). Just like the crescent shaped serrations, this release with front serrations may turn out to be a short run variation. :cowboy:

I heard from a reliable source that the really really soon to be announced Gen5 slides have normal straight grip grooves on the rear, and fish-gill grip grooves on the front.
Would be nice to see a G43 with front serrations. My gun news page shows SA dropped a hammer fired single stack so I think Glock needs to up their game.
Looks sell. These new "changes" are only directed to those who are concerned in how their guns look, or need the newest and greatest, or have not bought a Glock yet. Obviously these type 'enhancements' are to adddress the newest strikers that that EVERY manufacturer is putting out to take market share- seems every gun maker has to do their version of Glock type pistol, and add enhancements to sweeten the pot. They have it, we gotta have it too.
I guess if adding talon grips to my TALO G43 then I'm guilty. lol.
I only purchased the TALO because it was only $20.00 more than the standard G43 and I would've replaced the sights so I actually saved a couple hundred bucks.
I did exactly that to my G43 and went a step further and added the Pearce plus one extension grips to the mags.Made it a perfect carry weapon.Mine is the Talo also. The small difference in price just made more sense.

I think these guns look pretty good. If they limit the production numbers these will be desirable to own like the Gen 3 fish gill serrations and RTF frames. I think we will have to wait until Gen 5 for no finger grooves.
I looked over the new models with forward cocking serrations and the compensated ones yesterday. There was nothing there to make me want to buy one. I have mixed emotions about the serrations. One, I don't do press checks like that. Two, I think they slow down the draw; maybe infinitesimally but I'm sure they do. As for the C model, I don't need a compensator for a 9mm.
I guess I'll keep waiting for a 21s or settle for a 30s and just reload with 21 mags.
The M model was not available.
I will say, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. With that thought, everyone had a Glock look a like, S&W, Sig, FN, Cz, Beretta, Springfield, Walther.... Who did I leave out?
