I bet that got your attention!!!!!!!! All joking aside Gaston is getting up there in age and I wonder how many years he has left and what will become of the Glock pistol when he passes over. From what I have read and understand he still maintains strict control over his company and I personally don't want anything to change about it. So fellow Glockers what do you think will become of our beloved pistol?

As I understand it there is a lot of internal squabbling in the family over who would control it after his death. My opinion is much like bill ruger ruled with an iron fist there ( no over gen round mags for civilians no AR's etc) Gaston is quoted content to rest on the profitability of essentially a single design.( has been working for him so far) but with new corporate structures you might see them branch out more with possible completely new designs long guns who knows.
I suspect the bread and butter glocks we have become attached to would not change but an expanded product line might develop

I could actually change things. Look at Ruger. Prior to Bill's passing, they really seemed to be ignoring the personal defense market for the large part. You certainly had a hard time getting a hold of factory full capacity mags and the like. Now they are all in to that market.

IMO, I do not see anything "drastically" changing in future generations of the GLOCK pistol. I can see an undercut trigger guard, and maybe a few cosmetic changes to possibly the grip and slide. Maybe why they are introducing the summer run pistols in order to get a feel for interest in the slight changes that have been made, and possibly a gauge of what consumers (civilian, Military, and Law Enforcement) could be looking for.

I know that folks would love to see a .22LR variation of the GLOCK. I would think that if GLOCK were to enter into that market they would have done so already. That being said, Apple iPhone did not really change much until Steve Jobs passed away. So I guess that anything is possible.

One thing that I do not seeing happen, is by not changing with the times, falling out of the firearms market, like BlackBerry did in the cell phone market. Strange analogy I know.

I don't think a drastic shift would happen, but in terms of share of market, without innovation, competitors create similar products, and steal market share. How is Apple doing? They are doing "okay", but their share of market is not as rosy as they would like, as other platforms now compete, driving down profit margins. Inflation will occur, and a company either needs to keep pace via either organic growth or profitability increase (cutting costs, increasing prices, etc.).

The bigger question will be regarding who controls the company. Gaston has made his pile of money. Will one, a few, an investment group, or new shareholders want their bite of fortune, and how much can they extract, or how cultivating and thoughtful are they with the company. Could be interesting!

Some day, don't know when, Glock Inc will probably be bought by a consortium of Chiappa, Taurus and Hi-Point, who will design the Gen-X Glock with the most bizarre features of their respective product lines.

Maybe the new management would create a new company, under Glock where you could send your Glocks to have optional work done intend of you looking for an aftermarket company for customization.

His future widow will take it public, after the initial chaos the stock will settle in at a steady price and just keep going.
No radical innovations, no increases in market share, just a steady decline over decades.

A few brief experiments, like copying somebody else's carbine, might be all we can expect.
Also the .45 GAP cartridge will fade away but nobody will notice.

When he passes away, the family will break up the company. The one family member that retains the Glock signature name over the firearms business will make an AR-15 to start with. From there, it will only expand; hunting rifles, shotguns, kitchenware (pots & pans) etc.
