Can't believe I ever wasted time and money on Hi-Viz crap! This sight is just excellent. I ordered it last Thursday night at work, not anticipating it to get here before my GSSF match this weekend.

It showed up today and came with a great little aluminum sight installation tool, a piece of green and a piece of red fiber optic piping, and great instructions. I ordered the .185 tall front since my factory .175 front was shooting high. Now it's dead on.

Price was $39 and included a tool that most places try to charge another $7 to $10 for.

Sight fit in my slide slot perfectly and is just obviously so much higher quality than the $10 cheaper Hi-Viz.

Overcast day and under my porch or else it would have been much brighter. It was fine out at the range earlier.

The problem with that story is: Glock has never made a front sight of any kind that was O.175 inch above the slide. Glock OEM front sight height is and always has been 0.165 inch (4.2mm), except for threaded barrel models.

Dawson's .160 × .125 will give you full view of the dot w/ any factory rear. This is because Dawson's dot is near the top of the blade, and it's a smaller diameter dot than the factory blob.

(Of course, you could need a taller sight to suit your shooting style/technique, but the dot will be visible regardless)

Can't go wrong with Dawson, I have them on literally every one of my Glocks (duty, carry, and competition)!

Have shot IDPA roughly weekly for 8 years. Have always used Dawson sights, FO front and plain rear. Replaced a light pipe one time only, and that was because it had been in the sight for a couple of years, had a lot of powder residue on it, and replacement is a trivial task. In my experience, Dawson's are first class sights, and are what many/most competition shooters use.

I've bought two of the "#1 Seller Dawson Precision Glock * Fixed Competition Sight Set - Black Rear & Fiber Optic Front" and I've been happy. One set went on a G20 and the other on a G23. The front sight might be a bit narrow for some people but I like it that way. Of course, just order a wider front if that is what you want. Dawson seems to have just about any size you might want.

With respect to loosing the fiber optic, the only one I've ever lost was the factory front fiber on a Springfield XDm. And that was during a steel plate shoot. I was able to keep shooting but it was a big distraction.
