I'm tagging into to see too-trying to talk myself out of a new pistol, didn't even know that this model existed.
Opps- Not seeing it in the current Colt catalog either-which makes sense for Colt, not to produce something that people want, because they are Colt and the big government contracts always bail them out. Let us know how it shoots, there are some old threads (from 2011) about it-
Sorry, not the DAO model; however my "standard" Colt New Agent (i.e., SAO) has aways run like a top and is quite accurate at the distances you'd actually use a 3" 1911 in SD. My guess is, you'll enjoy yours. I assume it's NIB, correct? But whether DAO or not, you'll need to keep an eye on your recoil spring and swap it out about every 500-rds or so.
Once you get used to shooting with the "trench" or "trough" sight on the slide, and how to consistently acquire a flash-sight picture with it, the resulting groups may surprise you how tight they are. It's never going to be a competition or "target" 1911, and was obviously never intended to compete with a Gold Cup on the Match range.
Rather, with its much simplified and snag-free trench sight, the compact NA was purpose-built for one thing: to put an aggressive a-hole - who's armed and about to "get all up in your grill" - face-down on the urban concrete.

LOL...Nahhh..those grips came with it, also a set of wood grips, which are the ones going for her...Those grips, the white ones, maybe I will give them to charity or make a raffle, which I will make sure you win them....
This is why I like bac. He always congratulates people on their acquisitions, regardless of whether it is something he himself would buy.
I myself have a strange interest in double-action pistols patterned after the 1911, such as this one, the Double Eagle, and the old Seecamp conversions.
Congrats- I looked for one of those for a couple years. I had two other SA New Agents, loved them.
Go over that one really well, it looks like the owner has swapped out parts- grips, mag release, slide release, added a mag well...hopefully he left the insides alone!
Geeeez ......the first thought that came to my mind was DOA instead of DAO.
The introduction of that DAO trigger was NOT one of Colts finer commercial successes. HOWEVER, that one is a very nice looking specimen, and you can't go wrong with the Colt name for a good investment.
