Took my G42 out today for a short range trip. I love shooting this baby glock very accurate soft shooting. I must say next to my G19 this is one of my favorite guns to shoot.
Replaced my P-238 with a G-42. I won't bash SIG here as they are generally good guns but it had, in my opinion, 3 basic flaws and 1 operational problem. I am brand new to Glocks and will learn to rely/trust somewhat (on) the "extra safe' trigger. Right now, I am carrying chamber empty until I get a solid pocket holster to replace my $9 Wally-World special and a little additional confidence in the product. Please don't disillusion me with a list of G-42 problems. This one has shot every brand of .380 I could put in it, seems to be accurate, and is a soft shooter. love it so far.
Sig also has, be it not in production any more, a soft shooting high capacity, 15 in the magazine and one in the chamber, .380 in the P-250. Anybody can buy it if you can find one. But it is NOT pocket sized. Hence- the G-42.
Zaitcev, nice explanation on the 25 & 28. Since they are double stack, unwanted slide stop engagements aren't likely an issue, but what is the nature of the 'delayed blowback' action on these guns? Since the 42 runs with a locked breech, it's strange that Glock didn't use that system on the bigger .380s.
Thanks in advance,
Moon

The barrel hood on the G25 and G28 is cut at an angle. Thus, the pressure on the bottom of the case works against the slide to unlock the gun. There's no roller or lever and the slide does not have a lightweight locked piece inside, like you would expect in a normal delayed blowback. But the locking system is described as "delayed blowback" in Glock's official publications.
I have no idea why they've do this. We know that Browning system is perfectly suitable for the .380 cartridge, because G42 works.
