Just received three of these. They run very well, and no nasty pinch!

Magpul does it again!!

Experiences differ. Some grip extensions cause a pinch to the pinky.

I have medium sized hands and I have no problem with the length of the magazine’s pinky extension. Even though as ChrisD46 says it’s slightly smaller than the Pearce extension for the Glock 10 round magazine.

My problem is I can only fit 11 rounds into the mag using the loading tool.

By one Magpul 12 round and see how it fits. If it works, buy more.

Something to think about: A few years ago there was a looooong thread regarding G30 (.45) 9 & 10 round mags being impossible to fill to capacity. UpluLa, Glock loader, clamps, vices (!!!) seems everyone had tried all kinds of stuff to load those suckers. Nothing worked.

Then someone suggested lightly sanding down the bottom of the follower for a bit more room AND IT WORKED!!! Much joy in the G30 community.

Not sure (haven't looked) if the Magpul mags have this capability but take one apart and look. If the follower bottom edge can be lightly sanded flatter to achieve the same result, full capacity is about 10 - 15 minutes with some sandpaper away!!! Good luck.

I ordered a Magpul 12 rounder for the G26, and my medium to large hand fits it fine. I'm generally not an advocate of aftermarket mags, but I've had good luck with Magpul's .223 mags (love them), so I could not resist their G26 mag. I have not (yet) stuffed more than 11 rounds into it.

Dear Magpul: make some +2s for the G43 please.

I say, Dear Magpul: Make some 8 round mags for the G43

BEWARE !! ... I just returned the Magpul 12 because in measurements as compared to Glock OEM 12 round and 10 round (with Pierce Extension) magazines - the new Magpul 12 ONLY gives you 50% of the pinky extension - again , as compared to Glock OEM 12 or 10 round (with Pierce Extension) . *I sent mine back for this reason - however I do not have issues with Magpul 15 or 17 magazines . To sum up : Magpul 12 magazines ONLY if you have small hands - otherwise your pinky is squeezed for space and the grip will not feel good !
Thanks for the info. That was a concern for me. I decided to order one and see how it felt.

Forgive my ignorance but I've never seen a Magpul Glock magazine of any kind.

And the only thing that I know about Magpul magazines for Glocks is that people seem t like them because Magpul makes good magazines for AR's and so it's assumed that they're of good quality.

But there is one thing I'd like to know about the Magpul Glock mags: Are they metal lined with steel feed lips?

Not a lot smaller, but it is noticeable when you first hold it. I've undercut my trigger guard so my experience may not be valid for most, but if you shoot it some the odd feeling goes away fast. Getting twelve rounds in so far has proved impossible for me and I left the two magazines loaded for weeks. Still good for range shooting though.

Concerning 11 vs 12 rds - Has anyone who is only able to get 11 in the mag tried to disassemble the mags and re-seat(?) the spring and follower?

#22 ·
I got my magpul yesterday. I was able to barely get 12 rounds in but was unable to seat the mag in my 26 with the slide closed. It would seat with the slide open, but wouldn't chamber a round. Just too tight. As I read in another post, I carefully filed a little off the center leg of the follower. I only filed a little bit at a time, would put the mag back together, load the mag and try to chamber a round. It took a few tries but I finally was able to load and chamber the 12th round.

As others have said this mag isn't that much longer than the standard mag and I had no problem getting my little finger on the finger rest. I haven't had a chance to shoot with it yet, but I plan to eventually carry it as a spare if all works out well. A good value so far.

A bit belated, because I had to buy a mag and then remember to actually take some pics, but here are some side by side comparisons for those who are interested.

Basic height difference of OEM 10rnd vs. Magpul 12 rnd vs. OEM 12 rnd:

While the Magpul is more compact, it doesn't exactly split the difference between the two OEM mags:

Side view:

Auto part

Adjust the angle a little bit and you can see that while the Magpul has a noticeable height difference in front, it doesn't have much of any difference at the back of the mag when compared to the OEM 12rnd:

And, finally, some profile comparisons:

Everyday carry Electronic device

My Magpul version easily takes all 12 rounds by hand and, at least this particular one, loads more easily than my longer OEM 12 rounders.

Thank you Maccabeus, I get thirteen rounds on 9mm into my G-26 9mm mag with the Glock 7151 (+) floorplates.
Do you think Magpul will sell only the floorplate(s) as a replacement for stock Glock base plates?
Are you saying you can actually fit 13 rounds in your Glock mag? (Or do you just mean you have 12+1?) My OEM mags are quite stiff on the last round. I can't imagine squeezing in an extra; although, I'd love to, if I could.

As for the baseplates, sadly, they aren't interchangeable. Most of what looks like the Magpul baseplate is actually a molded portion of the mag body. The true plate is only a portion of the base. Note the non-compatible seams of the actual bases below:

Thank you Maccabeus, yes I have old issue Gen 3 standard ten round G-26 mags that I put Glock 7151 (+) bottoms on and all seat and hold thirteen rounds, as well as some G-17 gen 3 mags that reliably hold twenty. they all feed and function fine in my Glocks, maybe they are just old and set that way as I have been using them for years. Thank you for the fine review.

I'm a fan of the MAGPUL glock Mags. I use the extended rubberized baseplate for them as well. Great tacticle feel for reloading. Closing in on 3000
Rounds spread between 10 total G19 and G26 mags, no issues yet. Longevity will
Be the final test.
I did get a pinky pinch with Pierce mag extensions although they work well.
I am using Glock + 2 extensions on my My OEM G19 mags with wolf + 10% springs. This set-up works very well. My favorite is still the MAGPUL unless they start to fail at xxxx number of rounds.

I purchased the 12 round Magpul Glock magazines not because they hold extra rounds over OEM magazines, they were purchased because, unlike OEM Glock mags, they are easy to take apart and clean.

Originally they were for range use only. They proved to be so reliable they are now part of my G26 EDC set up.

So even when the mag is full it inserted easily when the slide is closed, I was worried about that.

I wish the pinky extension was about 2 mm longer, my pinky is almost falling off of it unless I really consciously bunch up my fingers. Still better than curling my pinky under the grip though, I just can't stand that.

Has anyone found that the last round loads easier over time as the spring gets usage?

I have absolutely no trouble with getting a full, stable, non-pinch grip on my G26s (both Gen 3 and Gen 4) using the MagPul 12 round magazines.

The all-polymer MagPul mag is solid, easy to disassemble and clean, and not too difficult to load to full 12 round capacity, though an UpLula device makes everything easier.

However... I've found that when said MagPul magazine is fully loaded (12 rounds), and inserted into a G26 with a chambered round, the first shot (of that chambered round) will not reliably extract the empty case and feed the top (next) round in the magazine, even with premium commercial loads like Federal HST 124gr; instead, the empty case often fails to extract, and the next, top round accordingly fails to chamber, requiring a "tap-rack" response.

If the MagPul mag is loaded with only 11 rounds, everything works fine.

Before sanding down the bottom of the follower, I've loaded my 6 MagPul mags to 12 round capacity, and will be letting them sit thus for a couple months, to see if they eventually may become thoroughly reliable.

so how does this compare to a G19 grip length? Seems this makes the size differences between a G19 and 26 even closer but you get 15 rounds and better velocity on the G19?

so how does this compare to a G19 grip length? ...
It's still shorter, but obviously by not nearly as much. Don't tell GT, but I don't own a G19, so I can only show you the difference in a round about way.

Random internet pic which I assume shows from L to R: G21, G22, G17, G30, G23, G19

The G30 with the 10 rnd mag is just a bit shorter than the G19.

Now, here is a G30 with the 10 round mag (left) next to the G26 sporting the magpul 12 (right):

and

You can see it is just a bit shorter still in front and noticeably so in back, which would be even more so if compared to a G19.

As an aside, comparing the G26 with Magpul 12 rnd to a G30 with the flat 9 rnd, it's pretty close:

The Magpul (behind) is taller in front, but the G30 (foreground) is higher in back. It's a judgement call depending on if you prefer 13 rnds of 9mm or 10 rnds of .45 ACP.

... but you get 15 rounds and better velocity on the G19?
Absolutely. If you prefer capacity and any extra velocity, the G19 is the best choice. For those who favor every little savings of smaller size and lighter weight, the G26 wins and the 12 rnd mag might be the happy medium between those two choices. YMMV.
