Thanks to all my brothers and sisters for serving and to all the families for their sacrifice.

I went in a month after you got out. June 1969. And then on July 16 we were marched down to a rec room on the base somewhere and watched the moon landing on TV. On Feb 14 1973 I was at Travis AFB when the first 20 POW's landed as part of Operation Homecoming.
My AFSC was Electrical Power Production Specialist so I ran the generators on the flight line for the news crews and stood right next to the cameramen as they filmed the men getting off the plane. Seeing the looks on their faces as they walked onto the runway is something I will never forget.
I’d love to have been there to see it in person! (Also would have loved to have been at the airport when Jane Fonda arrived back in the USA after her inexcusable treasonous trip to Hanoi.... but probably best I wasn’t.)
