Unless I am sorely mistaken, aftermarket spring kits for the 42 are almost non-existent (I'll gladly be proven wrong).

That said, I just found this:

Anyone currently using one? If so, a favorable improvement? Thanks!

I suppose there is an upgrade date.
Do you know it perchance?

I have a Ghost 3.5 connector presently. Trigger weight is right about 7lbs. For now it remains my EDC. I'd like to experience a 5.5 trigger to see what if any difference it would actually make in shooting accuracy.

There is a thread here about all the updated factory parts. Off the top of my head the ones I remember are the connector, slide stop, trigger housing, 03 marked magazines. The easiest way to get all the new parts is to send it back to the "Mother Ship", since some real early ones had the frames replaced as well. I don't know the serial number cut off, but if you have the "-" connector and 03 marked mags it should be GTD.
Take a look at this link for some heads up on the updated parts.

This right here. While certainly the characteristics of the trigger are different there were and are plenty of people shooting double action revolvers with 10+ pound trigger pulls so I fail to understand why so many chase a lighter trigger in a carry gun when it is pretty simple to master them as is if you have your fundamentals down. I do understand a lighter trigger is easier to master and make accurate hits with but this should never occur at even the slightest chance of decreasing the guns reliability

My wife's is a 07/16 build and has been perfect. Don't know the date or serial # cut off period. If it has the box and was built mid to late last year it's probably GTG. The mags are easy to check for the 03 marking, you can also look at the slide stop without removing the slide. Also if you remove the slide you can see if the "-" connector is on board easily.
