Hello Everyone,
I have my Dad's Glock17 Gen1 which I think he bought back in 1986 or 87. It has the original case and 19 round clip. The serial number starts with AS. I was told that it has the "pencil barrel" too...I'm not sure what that means.
That's the thing. To lots of people, it's just an old Glock. To a collector looking to add an early Gen 1 to their collection, it might be worth a premium.
But knowing collectors give it a few years and maybe double that amount, i.e. $1,000-1,600. Hold on to it for value as a fathers remembrance. You will regret not having it if you sold it.
OP, do you have any pictures of said 'clip' that holds 19 rounds? I always thought Glock pistols were magazine fed, one with a clip would be extremely rare, like unicorn rare.
I came across a local gen 1 G17 (non-pencil barrel), AU prefix, with the matching box (has the inserts for rounds of ammo) and paperwork, but without the original mags, for $850. I passed.
