Ok so lately Iv'e noticed it's getting harder to remove the slide on my G21,It almost seems like its getting hung up on the Guide rod which I just dropped in recentely,a lone wolf SS rod.So I tried a couple of things It The frame seemed a little pignosed up front so I gave it a very minimal amount of heat using a heat gun and that staightened it out nicely.I then dropped a factory GR back in and it seemed fine.So I put the SS rod back in yesterday and it seems to hang up again when trying to remove slide.I do have the extended slide stop lever and I am pulling down all the way so it can't be that.Popped the factory Guide rod back in and it seems ok.Anyone else evey run into this? Can it be something other than he Guide rod. It's kinda like the slide releases but hangs up on the right side.
What's wrong with the OEM RCS? If the aftermarket one doesn't run,I would just run the OEM job. I have the gen 4 g21 and see no reason to change my RCS out. I wish I could have a better answer for you but I am afraid without looking at it,I can not be of much help.
Airborne! by the way.
Put the dang gun back the way it was when Gaston sold it to you, and stop messing with it. Do what you want to the outside of the gun - sights, Talon grip, ugly stippling, etc. - but leave its internal squishy bits alone.
I say this with gentleness and respect - what your father or uncle would say to you if they knew anything about Glocks.
I have to agree. I'll never understand the urge to buy a gun, throw away half of it and replace with parts that are no better - and in some cases not as good as what came in it.
Yup,have you seen folks posting said glocks in classified ads asking more than the gun cost when it came from the factory due to the added "upgrades"? I always chuckle when i see stippling added as an upgrade.
I agree about the factory parts believe me the only non Glock factory parts I dropped in were the lone wolf guide rod and the ext guide lock lever all the rest of the stuff was just the recommended springs as well as a factory striker safety plunger.i now have an original plastic guide fox and the problem is gone, the lone wolf SS guiderod was **** and had been trashed don't get me wrong I'm sure the make good products just not this time, other than the ext slide lock I'm sticking with Glock parts only.thznks for the helpful replies
There's also no part that Glock calls a striker or a safety plunger. I don't know what a "guide fox" is. Made up part names hinder these technical discussions, and embarrass their user.
You say that you have replaced an unspecified number and function of OEM springs with "the recommended springs". If they are not all OEM, they are definitely NOT recommended by any knowledgeable source (including reputable aftermarket spring manufacturers) for duty use. Those springs are for range toys only.
