Been a few months since I've got a new pistol so was thinking a gen4 26 was next up. I iwb primarily and appendix on occasion. Size isn't the main focus just wanted to add another glock 9 and 45 is all I use in semi auto caliber so let's keep it with that. 34,17L,19,36,30,41 already found a home so 26,17,21 were on my list next. Thanks.

I just traded my G26 for a G43. Before everyone starts screaming, let me explain: I liked the G26 a LOT. But my EDC is a G27 converted to 357 Sig, which I love. However, the G26-27-33 require a holster (at least for me). The G43 slips into the front pocket of my jeans (useful for short trips, etc.) You cannot convert the G26 to a 40-based cartridge but you can do the reverse.

I would get the G27 and a 9mm barrel (or, a 357 Sig). I now have all 3 calibers: 357, 40 and 9mm. Six to eight loaded mags, barrels , tools, all in one pistol case in the dining room buffet==ready to go anywhere and right next to my car keys.

Opinions, ok! While I was contemplating the idea of a compact frame sized Glock, I considered the G26 but decided on the G33 in 357sig instead of having just another 9mm. Some claim it's an expensive caliber to shoot, but I never give ammo expense a second thought when it comes to protecting myself - it can never be about what's the cheapest caliber to shoot!

My G33's definately the chunky-monkey of my current every day carry rotation group and as such doesn't conceal as well as the others, but it's there amongst them nonetheless: XDs45, M&P40 Shield, G33...rinse, lather, repeat.

They are both great guns.

The 26 is the softer shooter because it weighs more and the grip has more surface area.

For a carry gun, it is of course unlikely you will have to shoot more than 20 rounds in an incident. So if you can practice with that many at the range, good shots, no problem with recoil, no problem with pain, then strictly as a carry gun you should be good to go with a 43 if you want that gun :)

Not true at all. The Shield may be a bit more comfortable due to the thinner profile, but the Shield's longer grip makes it harder to conceal. I carried my Shield for two years before getting my 26 about a year ago.

Big G26 fan here. I have a Gen 3 I carry quite a lot. It feeds the ammo I like to carry - well, every bit of ammo I've tried runs through it actually. It carries like a small gun but I shoot it more accurately, though not as quickly, as my G19. Tough to go wrong with one. I'll add that I recently picked up a G43 which may just give it a run for its money. First world problems, what to do...

I have both the G26 and G43. Like a lot of the others that have commented, I find I am more accurate with the 26 and appreciate the extra capacity. However, I do like the comfort of carrying the G43 IWB. So always looking for a reason to own extra firearms, I figure you need (not want) both! Essentially, I'm fine carrying either. For quick trips I find myself grabbing the G43, if I'm going to be out carrying for a good portion of the day I will usually default to the G26.

Yes there are other guns than Glocks folks. Thanks.[/QUOTE]
Gen 3 G26 my first Glock of presently five, (42, 26, 34, 22, 30S), so I guess you could say I've drunk the koolaid? Never have been able to shoot the 26 as accurately as I would like, with 10 rd, +2 ext, or the G19 mags. No such complaints with the others. Last year I bought a FNS 9 4", and must say I like everything about it so much that I'm in no hurry to get a G19. FN's trigger is as nice as any of my Glocks as is fit, finish, or other comparisons. If I were to be in the market for a 3.5" 9mm, I would have to check out the FNS 9C ?
