Your .300 H&H is a heavily sporterized US 1917 Enfield.

The ordnance bomb stamp is common to many US military weapons and gear.
From what I googled, the star in circle denotes a rifle made by Winchester before January 1, 1918 and possibly not meeting interchangeability requirements. It would not have been issued for overseas combat but held in reserve or used in training.

      Hmmm.
The safey looks very Eddiestone to me.
I believe your .300 H&H started life as a Remington built P-17 Enfield pattern .30-06 WWI surplus rifle. Add lots of custom work which was cheaper back in the day.

The scope mount is the main 'tell'. Springfield/Enfield application. Scope is some type of Baush & Lombgh.

The Cutts Compensator is '50's version of a muzzle break.

Hi Biggsly! That S&W Kit Gun only has about 50% finish but is mechanically sound. It's great little shooter but book value it isn't worth much. I'd just hate to give it away. Flash
