While people in the States are complaining of $3.30/gallon of gas, it only translates to $0.86/liter in Canada. It's a bargain compared to what we're paying for a liter of gas here which is around $1.16/liter.

Oil prices have gone down from $107.00/bbl to $100.00/bbl after the US Congress have decided to question oil company executives why they didn't put enough effort to lower the price of gas.

At 3 dollars a gallon, my pickup truck takes 60 dollars to fill, my wife's small SUV that takes 50 dollars, and my kid's takes another 50. None of us drive very far; each one of us fills up at least three times a month. 480 dollars a month for gas plus 200 for insurance, plus the annual city and state taxes, plus maintenance costs (parts plus 147 dollars per hour for the shop). Yup, I definitely feel lucky.

I already started counting, I might as well keep on going -

    total monthly payments - 1210
    (truck - 324, SUV - 550, car - 336)
    monthly gasoline bill - 480
    monthly insurance - 200

Holy cow! 1890 dollars a month just for transportation. Yup, I definitely feel lucky.

Gas prices increased to CDN$1.19/liter (CDN$1.26/liter in Vancouver) today. That translates $4.50 and $4.77 if converted to gallons. There's just about $0.01 difference between US and CDN$.
