So, what are the TV programs are you a bit embarrassed to admit you enjoy? Most people have one or two hiding in their closets. What are yours?

For me, it is Duck Dynasty and the show Supernatural. I am not a fan of reality TV shows and I generally really hate shows about the paranormal, but for some reason, these two shows held my interest until they were habits.

Duck dynasty is a complete waste of thirty minutes of my life, but those guys tickle me, especially Si. I don't know how true-to-life their behavior on the show is, but they are hilarious on that show. I really enjoyed their Halloween episode.

It is Supernatural that really embarrasses me. The melodrama, mixed with the wildly unrealistic plots and show premise add up to a show I would normally laugh derisively at, but this one caught my interest somehow. I really enjoy the actors that play Lucifer, Crowley and Castiel. I especially enjoyed the character of Bobby Singer and was bummed he got killed off. Anyway, this show is typical Canadian crap TV, but I enjoy it.

So, what shows are you embarrassed to enjoy? Go ahead and tell, we won't tell anyone...

  2. Tia and Tamara Mowry's reality show.
I can't get enough of it.

Otoh, I'm actually proud to say that I'm a Duck Dynasty fan.
    I have about 10 DD T-shirts now.

I love seeing a bunch of regular people that have achieved the financial independence to just go where their fancy takes them and have fun. I love rednecks. Hell, I refer to myself as a white-collar redneck. I can identify with those guys. Eric

I'm sure there are more but they don't come to mind right now.

I like entertainment that lets me escape from the real world. I get too much reality every day, I need something silly to forget the everyday stupid.

I've been watching Gold Rush for the past three seasons. That's not to bad, but I've also been watching Jungle Gold and Bering Sea Gold. Those last two have become little more than reckless drama and I'm convinced that sooner or later someone is going to end up getting killed on these shows.

  8. For quite awhile I would watch General Hospital with my wife. The small office she worked in closed for lunch and the TV in their break room had rabbit ears and only got ABC, so that's what they watched. We started recording it in case she ever missed it. Then we just started watching every night after the kids were in bed.

As ridiculous as the show was, it was pretty addictive.

I like shows that are considered cheesy by todays standards like the Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. I can even enjoy the animated christmas classics from the 60's like frosty the snowman, rudolph, and the Grinch.

Please dont tell anyone-- I could never live with the shame. :alex:

Probably my most embarrassing tv viewing pleasure was a few years ago: Judging Amy. I know, I know... Please don't think less of me. I don't know how I got hooked on that freaking show, but I did and I watched the whole series. That show was about as far left as a program can be and still fit on a standard TV screen, but I watched it anyway. I don't know why.

Tyne Daly played Amy's mother. The funniest thing to occur on that show was hers. She came out of a supermarket and saw four young black guys getting into her Ford Taurus. She put her hand in her coat pocket and pretended to have a gun pointed at them and chased them away. She was sitting in the car trying to figure out why her keys wouldn't fit when the cop car showed up. It seems that she had approached the wrong Ford Taurus and had just carjacked four black guys at finger-point. It was hilarious. Eric

 Its absolutely horrible, I know.

My Wife likes it and for the longest time I gave her crap for it. Thought it was the dumbest show ever (which it is), but I sat down and watched a couple episodes with her on her birthday, and like a car accident, I couldn't look away.

    I'm ashamed. :embarassed:

What are you still doing here? I thought I banned you?

Anyway, judge not lest ye be judged. I used to love the TV series Roseanne. That right there lost me the right to ever judge anyone else's TV choices.

I don't watch TV, so I can't comment. I did enjoy Gray's Anatomy the first couple seasons when it came out. I do know it's fictitious and likely in NO way representative of a real doc's life, but I've always been interested in that lifestyle, and that's the reason I watched the show.

Yeah, Roseanne is pretty bad, but I must admit that I don't think anything is as downright horrible as Honey Boo Boo.

On a side note, I believe I'm going to have to put your first quote in my signature line! I about pissed my pants cause I was laughing so hard

Ax Men and Gold Rush when I can catch 'em.

I know a lot of it's staged. I know people get all funky when a camera is involved, but I can't get enough of those shows.

I just like the idea of tough men working hard, taking risk, and grinding it out just like many of the rest of us.

Real "Rednecks" are good people. They will help tow you out a ditch, get you gas and after your say roadside troubles invite you over for a beer or something. I have real "redneck" family.

Then there's the posers, these kind I see all the time in the city. Got a big truck, dip in the mouth, bumping that new twang fake country music and tuck their jeans in the boots to be cool.

Does Orange County choppers count? Was ok at first but then turned into a man drama.
