$599? That's $100 cheaper than any place I know of. It is next on my list of must haves.

I'd take it if the internals seem to be alright, look down the barrel and look for abnormal wear.

I think you will find it's a new US made barrel.
    Century has been building again.
The price is good,if fit and finish is good,I'd add it to
    my collection.

Thanks for the info. Looked it over pretty good and the barrel appears to be chromed and looks flawless. Action is quite smooth and the sight looks perfectly straight. He had a couple WASR-10 (believe that was the name of them) and the front sights look canted. Any way to straighten them? I'm going to go down and pick up the polish AK and might buy a WASR as well.

Are the WASR-10's any good, they are $399.

Thats what you're looking for, flakeless chrome, is a good indicator that the barrel isn't U.S. century built. Sights on correctly, and a smooth bolt are also key. I would take off the dust cover and look for tool marks, but other than that sounds like your looking at a very fine AK

I picked up the AK, now I need a new buttstock and forend (preferable a dark set). Anyone know where I can find this at? The wood that came on it is so so.

    Something like this: http://jake-g.com/images/misc/ak-1.jpg

Friend of mine just got one of those on sale for just over 500 after tax. Taking it out soon to test fire an compare with my AK, will let you know the findings, but I would snatch it up while its there.
