I have a friend who is a military commander in Finland, he recently purchased some fire fighting equipement for his base. It is very fascinating high end yet dirt simple stuff.
The equipement is very expensive in up front cost but probably much more affordable in life cycle cost analysis and it appears to have some unique capabilities.

That is odd looking. I didn't see any videos of it in action. It seems to be setup mostly for initial attack/small fires. I don't really understand about the backpack setups. Are you supposed to enter a house with them? How long does the water last? I don't know if I would enter a structure fire without a hose connected to a large, dependable source.

    Interesting though.

Okay, I just went back and saw that they have a system to be used with an existing truck's water. Another question, how far do these things shoot? With the truck mounted dual cannons (very cool looking, by the way), do you have to pull right up next to the fire to be effective?

Their website leaves a lot of unanswered questions.
