Just bought an XD-40 two tone, two 12 round mags, mag carrier, holster, loader and of course plastic case.

    $549.00 + tax

Not exactly the one I wanted but close enough. I actually went in to buy a 1911 but couldn't find what I wanted.

I'am going to get a workout loading the mags. I hope the springs get a little weaker.

Now remember the price $549. Gander Mountain. I feel like I did ok.

    Congrats on a great pistol.

You're still going to want the 1911 though. ;)

I bought a couple of boxes of .45 the other day just to be stocking up, but I was not ready to pay $1000 and up for a 1911.

Were we lying in bed the other night and the news was on I told my GF we don't call 911 we call 1911, then I had to explain that to her.

I keep looking until i find the one.

They are well-made, over-built pistols. The mag springs will loosen with time. Position the take down lever exactly as it says in the manual or you will scratch the slide during field striping if that is a concern to you. Price wise, you did well in these times. Before Newtown, Bud's had the Black models for $479.00 to $499.00 plus your FFL handling fee. Everything I see out there has jumped from $50.00 to $100.00 since the school tragedy.

It's an awesome piece. Great trigger & low recoil for a .40
