Am I correct to assume that WST will work well in 38spl?

If so does anyone have any data on it or loads that they like? I'm using 158gr LRN.

I tried a search but came up with nothing:dunno:

    Thanks

I finally found a little data on it:

    148grn. HBWC - 2.7-3.0grns
    148 grain LHBWC: Start 2.5 WST | Max 2.8
    158 grain LSWC: Start 3.3 WST | Max 3.7 | +P 3.9
    158 grain JHP: Start 2.6 WST | Max 3.6

Any other info would be great.

    I like 3.7 behind a 158 LSWC.....great load, clean very little leading.

I'm interested in seeing where this thread goes. I have some WST that I use mainly for .45 acp and I have some 125 gr XTPs for .38...

    I use 2.7grns. w/148grn. HBWC, 3.5grns. w/158grn. LSWC.

The 148grn. is superbly accurate, very clean burning, and lethal on small soft targets. The 158grn. is slightly less accurate but I use it more often as I have a source of excellent cheap locally cast bullets.

I've never used WST with any 125grn. bullets. All my reloads with that weight have been jacketed/+P and WST is simply too quick burning to give good results with safe pressures.

Thanks tjpet. Can You give an opinion of a medium range load for my 158gr LRN? Would 3.5gr work for RN as well?

    Thanks

Don't see why not. Except for profiles both bullets are just about the same.

    That's what I was hoping you'd say:supergrin:
I'll load 10 rounds up and see how they shoot this weekend.
