A Dog Named Beau - Jimmy Stewart

One of the most magical moments on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson happened in 1981 when Jimmy Stewart shared a poem about his dog, Beau. What the audience thought was going to be humorous, became something they will never forget. Most visibly touched was Johnny, himself.

Major General James Stewart USAF (Ret.) was one of the most valiant, and humble, men who ever lived. 427 has a great thread about him, and the B-58 Hustler.

    Some of his many accomplishments:

    World War II
    Vietnam War

    Distinguished Service Medal
    Distinguished Flying Cross (2)
    Air Medal (4)
    Army Commendation Medal
    Armed Forces Reserve Medal
    Presidential Medal of Freedom
French Croix de Guerre with Palm

A truly heroic man, and as the OP showed, a very loving and loyal man as well. :patriot:
