The next thing we 'll hear is mayor so and so is killed by unknown gunmen. Masyadong matapang...--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mayor tells Army officers: “Leave town or else…!!”
    May 07,2008

Officers of the Philippine Army in Catanduanes tangled with San Andres Mayor Leo Z. Mendoza last week after the latter berated two Army officers and told them to pull out of the town within 24 hours.

The nasty encounter began in the morning of April 30, 2008 at about 10:45 A.M. while 1Lt. Henry Pabelonio, commanding officer of Alpha Company, 65th Infantry Battalion, and Lictin detachment commander Sgt. Edwin Alonsagay were conducting a checkpoint at Lictin near the Luyang Cave.

A silver Nissan vehicle with plate number ZJP-611 allegedly owned by Mayor Mendoza was flagged down by Army soldiers and CAFGU members but instead of stopping, it accelerated and disregarded the authorities.

The two officers also reported to the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office at Camp Francisco Camacho that prior to the incident, while Sgt. Alonsagay was at the Lictin Elementary School at around 2 P.M. of April 28, he was fetched by the men of Mayor Mendoza, whose service vehicle was parked at the side of the road. Without any reason, Sgt. Alonsagay said, he was scolded by the mayor and challenged to a firefight. Mayor Mendoza allegedly gave him and his men an ultimatum to leave the town within 24 hours. Apparently, the vehicle of the mayor was stopped by Army elements at another checkpoint the day before (April 27).

When 1Lt. Orlando Gil Marquez, Jr., commanding officer of the 1st Catanduanes Civilian Active Auxiliary (CAA) went to the office of Mayor Mendoza at 7 P.M. of April 30 to explain the matter, the mayor told him: "Bakit tsenekpoint yong tao ko sa Barangay Rizal? Pumasok ka sa teritoryo ko na walang coordination! Umalis ka sa teritoryo ko! Umalis ka sa San Andres, umalis kayo ng tropa mo sa barangay Lictin within 12 hours kung hindi… Layas! Hindi na kita kailangan sa opisina ko!"

The Tribune tried to get the side of Mayor Mendoza last Saturday (May 4) but he did not reply to the query.

hmmmm gives a pathetic view of what we normally call "public servant". The taxes we pay is what pays that guy's salary. Konting humility naman dyan mayor. Nakakahiya eh.

That's how mayors here see themselves- kings of their little kingdoms.

Several years ago, European election observers were amazed to see how we fight over mayoral posts. Guns, goons & gold talaga. They said in Europe the mayorship is purely an administrative job without the trappings of power that we have here.

:tongueout:

    hahaha! galing-galing Father Poodle. Idol!
Pag nagtangka pa ulit...pa TMG-Anti Wang Wang mo 0928-3982873.
Aside from marked ambulances and marked police vehicles may mga LIMITED number of govt. officials lang ang puede maglagay ng Wang-Wang.

Even a cop is NOT authorized-nor OBLIGED-nor EMPOWERED to install Wang-Wang in his personal vehicle.

Otherwise, the "air" for superiority and the "feeling for grandeur" set in.
