would brass collecting qualify as OCD?

Every time i see a peice of 9/40/45 I want to pick it up. Even though I have about 10k of each. LOL

Is this a disorder ? Some have called me a brass whore. LOL

    When is enough, enough?

I think if you have an oil drum full of a particular caliber, you've got enough... but I don't have that much yet. I don't even have an oil drum. ;)

I have a friend that works for a department that only uses 40sw. I have over 2k loaded, 5k sitting waiting, and still say sure everytime he ask if I want more. If you are going out buying 1k brass when got a few thousand waiting its a issue. But range pick up is fine. Hell I have 38 super brass and no 38 super.

I've easily got 3 times that much brass for each caliber and I still pick-up brass and dig in our range buckets. I don't doubt for a second I've got some sort of mental disorder (s).

I wonder what that says about me? I pick up all the brass I can, in fact I have coffee cans and other containers full of different calibers. My only problem is I don't reload. I keep telling myself I will someday. When that day comes I won't ever have to worry about brass.

Collecting brass has to do with being related to the Crow family. Crows are attracted to bright things like brass. Noticed this issue years ago when I first started reloading. Now the wife even has the habit. Always a pleasure to pickup once shot brass in calibers you reload, barter or help someone else out. Caw caw.

    OCD, no. But hoarding, yes.

I'm waiting for Hoarders to do an episode where they feature some old guy with a house full of brass and lead. That would be awesome...

I'm the same way - can't seem to leave the range without picking up all the brass around me. It's a sickness, definitely a sickness.

They came to my house to shoot an episode of Hoarders. They said I'd have to clean up my bench before they could even start filming.

OCD is going out and shooting 100 rounds then wasting an hour looking for the 3 cases that you can't find. Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt.:crying:

OCD: Is when you use 10,000 Red Solo Cups stacked in your living room to store all the brass in!

When you pick up enough of a caliber that you don't have a gun for, it's a PERFECT reason to buy another gun !
(The wife is paranoid, she just found my stash of .50-140-3 1/4" Sharps brass)
This is my planned retirement gun, possibly (but not likely) my last gun buy.
