Once in a while is funny. It is unexpected. Fifty or a hundred copycats running it into the ground gets old. In all things moderation. Eric

    Anyway.

The really scary thing about this technology isn't so much what it was used for the first time. It is what it gets used for the next time. The Stuxnet virus was published online, after its discovery. What was the work of a well-funded and talent crew to create, is the work of script kiddies to use. Stuxnet was a hell of a powerful weapon to throw out for everyone's use. Eric

    Epoch of Unix time.

Also, Mr. E. Aaron Presley returns to the International Hotel for another month long engagement. He breaks his most previous attendance record.

It is also 194 years since Gen. GW hoists the Continental Union Flag...

This is what virtually unlimited resources can do.

Folks think they have perfect security and then this pops up.

What prevents the US Government or any other government from putting some sophisticated spyware on our systems without our knowledge?

Why do folks trust Kaspersky so much? They are in Russia.

Most of the best hackers in the world come from former Eastern-Block countries. Their infrastructure was once an instrument of state-run activities.

Nation-states carrying out this sort of thing is scary, but the real threat to the individual is what other, less capable and less disciplined people will do with the technology. There is at least a point and a target to what the creators of these viruses are doing, but these viruses are tools that will not care what the purpose is of the next set of hands that will use it. Eric
