A WMV video (college hockey game video -- about 2 hours long) plays on my computer, but not on my DVD player hooked up to my television.

Is there a way to convert it?

Well, I was able to convert the video just fine, but the sound somehow missed the boat . . . I'll have to look deeper into the interface.

In order to solve can't play WMV on DVD player, you first need to know which video format does your DVD player can play and then convert your WMV to DVD player supported format with iDealshare VideoGo so as to successfully burn WMV to DVD disc for easy playback on DVD player.

wmv is windows format. Some dvd players might play it, but I wouldn't expect it.

You need to use a program to burn (encode) it to a DVD.

You might already have a program to do it. Look for Windows Movie Maker. (also Windows Live Movie Maker). If not its a free microsoft program. it can do what you want to do.

ok hold on everyone. if you want something that's crazy easy to use, get a program called Freemake Video converter. get it here: http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/

VERY easy to use and will convert with sound from basically any format to any format. If your DVD player is capable of playing mp4, I recommending using that format, and if it has a USB port, even better and quicker. Trust me on Freemake... can't go wrong with it.
